Having fun trying to be cynical guy? Actually, UE3 is becoming popular among 3rd party developers because its features, flexibility, and content creation pipeline are unmatched at the moment. Game developers know better than to be wow'd by some good high-res art when it comes to considering engines to license.

No no, don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against UE3 or it's popularity, on the contrary. Having modded for UT2k3/4 I have learned alot about it and it's strenghts, and I completely understand why developers like using it.

The support for it is awesome, and I'm glad that it is getting alot of attenttion and the fact that epic has taken interest in other deelopers products and ideas (like the NovodeX physics engine from AGEIA) just makes it that much better option for developers.

And what adds to the already great concept is that it is very similar to the old UE2 and 2.5 so devs can easily pick up it and not have to learn everything from the start again.
