The multiplayer is amazing, haven't had this much excitement in a Battlefield game in a very long time. The new operations game mode is probably the most cinematic multiplayer experience I've had in ... maybe ever. The singleplayer is short, but they have the right idea this time around. More open sandboxes, more room for creative decision making. The tank storyline was well done, and the gameplay in the Lawrence of Arabia storyline is pretty awesome. Some other campaigns are weaker from a gameplay perspective but the storytelling keeps them enjoyable.

And also... dat environment art. Best looking levels this year alongside Uncharted 4 in my opinion.

It looks amazing, seems like most of it is photogrammetry. Definitely getting it, just probably not now.

I've played every BF title and had a lot of fun - for like 10 hours each. Still on the fence on this one, just don't know if I'm full on the genre. Operations look sick and the theme is great, but full price? I'm not sure this time.

Operations is probably the best game mode and the most WW1-feeling one. It takes the push/frontline vibe of Rush and makes it about holding ground instead of arming objectives inside a 1 square meter clusterfuck area of death. :D

I definitely recommend the 40 player version in general. I tried 64 players but it felt a bit overcrowded on the maps I tried, though there may be exceptions.

Totally agree, I felt the same thing.

@Sprony I sent you a friend request on origin to fight by your side ;)

No one buys BF for its single player. I'm still amazed it is even included. Seems like a waste of resources to me.

Lack of a singleplayer tends to be a kick in the balls for the review score for this sort of game.

There's definitely a tendency towards it in the game. A lot of it has to do with the levels. Many have realistic terrain with very scarce and low cover and allow for tremendously long sight lines. Furthermore, many levels have a sort of bowl shape, where the center of the map is surrounded by elevated ares, which allows snipers to lie on the outskirts and scrutinize the center, as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water.

And what a pleasure to destroy all of them with the support class when you flank these cocksuckers

Haha nice War of the Worlds ref :P

But yeah, agreed. I wish they'd incorporate more cover into the levels. It's really cool to have these vast open spaces and actually, I guess it kinda reflects WW1 quite realistically, but it makes for frustrating gameplay. I'm really enjoying this game but I'm finding it to be a little more frustrating than I expected, I seem to get sniped a lot out of nowhere.

I've been forced to change my standard fps playstyle. I usually play medic and hide in buildings/behind tanks a lot. If I'm in the open I prone in ditches after being spotted, it doesn't take long, it seems, for the snipers to lose interest in me and target someone else. I've bsically slowed down a lot. This has turned out to be a winning formula for me at least. Sniper heavy teams tend to lose hard.

Try equipping smoke grenades as well, you get two of them and they recharge fast if you have a support nearby
