Quick sketch I did today while waiting for a test... everything is rather rushed but I kinda like it (I went for a todd mcfarlane-like style)

    "todd mcfarlane-like style"

sounds cool to use such artistic catch-phrases, aye ?

i really like the image's style but to me the thick outlines destroy the overall impression, because i think they are mainly used to not being forced to paint more detail in it. it looks a tad random to me - just so the image is filled with more outlines than it would be with thinner lines. i don't know, i'd like a more cleaner look. but if thats toddmcfarlane, its all fine for me

i disagree, acumen. the thick lines add tension to the image, and it would probably look even better if animated in the traditional cartoon way. what really bothers me though is the light... it seems extremely out of context with the rest of the image.

Nice Minos, I am quite a fan of Mcfarlane's style too, as you might notice in the Pyramid Head drawing

KIIIA: Looks ok, not really my thing though.

Quickie which took me about half an hour. Wanted to create something with a consistent charming, soft red tone:

I like the design but the drawing is really lacking depth, something i see happen alot when texture artists make illustrations

Haha, you're absolutely right! Can't quite put my finger on it though what's causing all my drawings to look this flat. Most people learn traditional art before doing game graphics, but it's the other way around for me, ironicly.

Any suggestions how to improve this would be more than welcome <3

maybe you should pick another angle/perspective? it kinda looks like a side view, also the shadow looks like a drop shadow, in the perspective you draw in it should look almost like a line on the floor.

And maybe some more ambient occlusion could help making it look more 3D.

But its looking nice already : )

Thanks for the replies! I've tried to improve it by adding more depth to it. It's a bit late to redo the perspective at this stage, but I'll try harder next time, I promise

    Here's the update:

The concept car doesn't look incrusted into the background. Btw very interesting concept there.

it looks like it's part of the style. like a mosaic or something similar. i could see this on a wall inside a temple along with the duck monster, turkey monster and cookie monster.

Really just a quick sketch I did, since I haven't had much time to draw stuff, and brought my pencils and paper while visiting my parents in the christmas period.

Used one of the miniatures (that I coincidentally also brought to repaint in said period) as a model, so it might be lacking on some details. My eyes aren't what they used to be

It's kinda out of proportion in places and the shadows could be better, but oh well

Here we go, first in a while.

    EDIT

Just a real quick wrapup really.. Did some simple colorization in the chapter colors. Nothing big, but thought I'd spin it off here as well.
