That's a lot of content for a demo. You can easily spend hours on mission 2 or 3.

If anyone's on the fence about this, definitely try the demo! This game does a lot of things right.

Demos are back? Damn, that's cool. I already have the game (and loved it), but I'll pitch it to a friend.
-
Will there be dlcs along the way or is it complete as is? (There is no season pass or anything so I guess there aren't any planned, but just checking )

I saw news of the demo as well; a bit worried if that means they're not making the sales they expected

The user reviews were quite harsh on PC, I personnally think I'll buy it tonight, but I know some people were thrown off by the technical issues. On metacritic, it is rated at 86 by reviewers and something like 6 by users because it ran poorly at first. That may have hurt their sales, and they figured they should put a demo and a sale to get back the people who wanted the game, but didn't bought it at launch because of technical issues and then forgot about the game.

Tried the demo. It's pretty fun, but reminds me of Deus Ex: Human Revolution a lot, in that it's a good game with some really frustrating fiddly bits. Probably the worst for me is the menu design: The text field constantly pivots back and forth when reading books and letters, which is migraine inducing (please tell me there's some way to turn this off?), and there's no extra keys for different menu screens, so if you want to check your map, for example, you have to hit J to open the mission objectives, click the Notes and Lore tab, click the Maps sub-tab, and THEN click the map you want.
edit: Also I found multiple visual bugs where you can see outside the world in Mission 2, like boardwalk planks with white nothingness between the boards, or a crack between two bookshelves with the same white void peaking through. Feels weird for a game that's been out for months and received multiple patches.

I might be pick this up only to appreciate the art, not sure if the gameplay is my cup of tea, but damn does this game look good!

I can't recommend this game enough. It's got some very creative level design and beautiful environment art, while also having one of the most re-playable SP campaigns I've played in a long time. Three levels is a pretty decent chunk of free content for this type of game. This game is at its best when you try to go out of your way to play creatively, because of the emergent nature of its systems. I think you should play it like a sandbox game. If you just play safely and don't experiment, I think maybe the game will get boring? (But if you've played other Arkane games, you probably already know this.)
My biggest problems with the game are that the characters/story overall felt a little flat and the inconsistent framerate hurt the fluidity of the game at certain parts. Also, something about the movement felt "chunky" compared to DH1. They may have addressed the performance by now, I always see updates pop up for the game.
I wish they had something like a weekly/daily challenge or something to encourage more experimental gameplay, but as of right now playing creatively is its own reward.
I was hooked on the game once I watched this:

Bought this during the sale, I must admit I waited a bit for patches and updates to fix some of the issues. I'm a huge Dishonored fan so I've been dying to play it.
I am currently just an hour in or so and it feels really cool, however I am very disappointed with the performance. I play on medium and these settings make the environments look very flat and even then I feel my framerate is very choppy.
I've got a Geforce 780 that can handle the likes of Battlefield 1 and Doom with ease. -
Yeah, I played it on the PS4 but I wanted to see if it would work on my pc (GTX 960) but Nvidia sets everything to low and when I change it, the performance drops significantly. I didn't really enjoy this with a controller (even though the game is great) so I haven't finished the PS4 version. There haven't been any new patches so I suppose I'll never finish it which is such a shame

There was an update recently but the performance wasn't bumped enough unfortunately.

Aside the issues with v-sync I had, I found that the anti aliasing and v-sync were causing the most present issues. I have stable framerate between 45 and 90 with an r9 fury on ultra 1080p with just AA turned down to fxaa high and v-sync off. With those i had terrible framerate and lots of stuttering. Maybe that could help you guys!

Yeah, usually there's one option hidden somewhere under graphics options that just makes your computer crawl. lol
-
Yeah, I noticed that too @Puddy. That was a good suggestion @laminutederire. I've been experimenting a bit more and I now have a decent performance with nice visuals. I still have some micro stutter in the cutscenes, but nothing too serious. If the demo keeps this up, I'll get the pc version as well. Because I'm already hooked again

Ever since I upgraded my graphics card to a gtx1050 ti, and started being able to afford running Vsync in most cases, I can no longer stand to have it turned off.

On a different note, I really tried giving this game a chance... but it's just not working. I attempted it with the "no powers mode" and ended up just being frustrated, because none of the levels seem to be designed with no powers in mind. In addition to that, on the third mission I got stuck and had to restart because the path I had chosen lead to a dead end without powers. When I tried to go back my path was blocked by a guard that I had no way of getting around without either getting spotted or killing him from a range. Both of which aren't the ghost way I would have liked to play the game. Beyond that, the world feels empty and soulless, the story is boring and inauthentic (immediately upon a new contender for the throne, all the guards switch loyality without needing further proof? really?) and the AI feels gamey. I kind of wish I had given it less of a chance, because then at least I could have gotten my money back. Oh well.

Every level has a solution in no powers mode. I've done it and the devs even acknowledge it in this thead

There were potential "solutions", but they required me to kill or get spotted, as I wrote above. So yes, maybe it is possible to complete the game with no powers, but in my case I got stuck in an area that I couldn't exit unless I broke my playstyle. A case like that doesn't exactly scream good design.
