Yeah I suspected that was the case. I'm guessing it's very bare bones right now or it's just some light tooling on top of maya/max.
If the map compiler and format specs were to be released then maybe someone from the community could make an editor ![]()

I'd release anything, at all, whatsoever to get a start. No polished first impressions kind of thinking. People would make it work.
Pliz do eat !!!

I agree but this is Blizzard. I don't think they would be down with releasing something that isn't super polished.
Personally I'd be happy with a collection of half-broken maya python scripts that need to be wrangled to work.
On that note. Has anyone looked at the shipping asset files? Maybe I'll take a look sometime. Who knows? Maybe there's enough there to go off of.

Yeah. That's what I'm criticizing a little bit. At least, if it would prevent tools going out sooner. This is UGC, by definition it's not polished for the most part.

Well you know Blizzard - "polished first impression" is kind of their motto ![]()
...But yeah if they were to release a level editor for this, I would go completely nuts. Just saying.

I would consider taking a 3 month vacation if they release a level editor ![]()
$150 lmao
I'm not really into these types of collectibles, but it makes you think on which hero would look best as a statue. Widowmaker is one of my least favourite characters, so that one's a no. I think I would give it to Orisa. She looks great.
Speaking of which. How are people liking Orisa?
I havent used her a lot but I've seen a few uses of her and Rein on Eichenwald and between both of their sheilds it gets pretty nuts

I'm not very big on these kind of collectibles, I see them as a useless waste of desk space actually, lol.
That said... I've seen this one in real life, and it's really damn impressive! It's really big, (35cm tall) the shapes are nailed to the most minuscule detail, and the materials, which are hand painted are absolutely phenomenal. $150 is actually not that bad at all.

I've played a few competitive rounds (Diamond SR) and I see people play her on almost every game.
I'd say she's a great replacement for rein on tighter maps, obviously her shield doesn't have the mobility reins has, but on tighter chokes like Eichenwalde arch, she's absolutely amazing.
New event has launched:
This is looking to be the best event yet!
The plot of this event is really fucked up. Overwatch is invading a sovereign country, explicitly against the wishes of its government, to kill "extremists". It's basically robo-Yemen. And sure, they've addressed this stuff in retrospect previously, in that it's why Overwatch was shut down, and present characters sympathize with that decision, but in the event there's no negativity shined on this at all. It's just gross. I'd much rather fun Frankenstein type stories, or sci-fi stuff, than ripped-from-the-headlines Team America World Police type shit.
The fact that the enemies are robots doesn't help, because how the hell are a bunch of robots that clearly aren't even sapient "extremist"? The framing around this event is borrowing from REALLY gross stuff.
Maybe I should have kids some day after all.

Really love the implementation and theming of this event! The coop needs to be expanded in the future (and with a tad more replayability)!
It's weird how Overwatch came out of nowhere and just gave us a bunch of cool characters to care about.
