    Hey guys,

Now that the challenge is all done I want to ask for some constructive criticism. Simply because I want to improve future challenges and mainly due to the fact that I'm not really that satisfied with how it turned out. For the record, you guys and the results are amazing but the challenge itself could have been better. My points:

    • I think we shouldn't have gone with community voting. Chris his map is amazing but it took too much spotlight. A panel of judges, even for a challenge, should be better for the future. Or, if there are no prizes involved, simply don't do any kind of voting. Because too many good entries got ignored.
    • We should have had playtesting. But due to the game not being finished yet and my limited knowlegde of UE4 I didn't get this of the ground. It's a whitebox challenge but voting was mostly done on visuals which should have been based on gameplay. This doesn't give the right impression for LD's out there (thanks Frie).
    • I was too exciting about getting emails from Epic. I should have been more careful in what I said about that because it ultimately led to disappointment with me and others as well.

That's it for me, feel free to share!

I had no idea people would vote, it was a personal challenge and not a competition

I don't think it's fair to have a winner in a whitebox map anyway, and I also think a game like UT - with it's variety of popular maps and modes, that play completely differently, makes judging it a little tricky.

So in my opinion, challenges shouldn't have winners. If we want winners, make it a contest - and then set some more rules.

It was still a very successful challenge, we got 11 very solid levels that could all be taken into further development.

I think somebody is manually typing out bot posts. My head is aching with how stupid this is

As for the contest, I thought it went well. I'm not sure if I agree about voting, I think it's the fair way to do things. My only concern with internet voting is poll abuse, but that isn't going to be a problem until we have monetary prizes
