Suggestions for graphics card?

Currently I use a Quadro K600 which does its job (somewhat) for my paltry work in Hammer and 3ds max. However, Unreal Engine 4, even with performance tweaks, runs unbearably slow when dealing with a typical level.

From what I've read online, I guess it's just a matter of updating the hardware to keep up with the software.

Not really tech-savvy about the life-cycles of graphics cards but I was wondering if anyone knew of any modestly priced cards which can handle the newer engines. Probably not going to buy one until later this year but it's good to plan.

I would go with the nVidia GTX 760 at the moment, really good value.

Not that you can really find them at the moment, but I am running on an NVidia GTX 550ti (just one). It lags a little inside of UE4 editor but I really do not get any problems in 3DS Max typically and hammer editor is just fine. If you can afford it I would go with Marcem's card (or SLI them if you can afford the drop in cash). THIS is probably your best bet in that price range. Just my $ 0.02.

Just stay away from AMD and get the medium range Nvidia card, whatever model it is right now. Probably a 6 or 7 series.

HP sprouting the usual and unhelpful vitriol towards AMD, some things never change

    Anyway.

Good AMD card on a budget: R9 270X

Good Nvidia card on a budget: 760

I had few AMD's and the problems and artifacts I had are countless. I will never buy AMD again. Ever.

Yeah, I've also had a bunch of problems with AMD so I've opted for nVidia with my two latest cards.

The only Ati card I ever had was the 9800 Pro. Now that was a videocard!

Never had an issue with AMD ever. Not my fault you guys can't look after your kit.

Never had any Issues with AMD cards either, In fact I have a HD4850 here which is 5-6 years old and still working perfectly fine. (beside being forking weak nowadays)

Though, I have a Nvidia card right now and as long as the perfomance is alright, I dont care.

You should buy the best available card that you can get within your budget and dont worry too much about AMD or Nvidia.

Atleast if you dont want some special nvidia/amd feature.
