Starting off 2017 with a big bang. Got a new gym partner, went to a new gym, smashed it. Haven't gone at it that hard for a while, was good. Hit some new PB's.

May have just killed off the project I have spent the last 6 months working on that I was hoping to turn into my dream job. :( :( In other news, going to the gym tonight with my wife to get back in shape.

Edit: Gym was a success. Going back again tomorrow (today is a rest day while we get reacquainted).

I purchased flight tickets to go to NYC end of March. I've never been to the city (first time to the US East Coast for me actually). Any MapCorians who are living there and want to hang out, hit me up! :)

Sad to heard that, but don't you worry, hard work will get you anywhere in time! And nonetheless, you still got a wife and that car! ;)

Even though I'm glad my old job is over and the break up is getting uglier by the day, I sure miss those early years there. Not a night goes by that I don't have dreams about it one way or another. I spent a decade there, almost a third of my life. That's really something. But those days and people are long gone. But you know what really surprised me the most? Due to circumstances beyond my control, I vanished without a trace, not having a chance to say goodbye. People I've worked with for over a decade, never reached out or asked what's up. Now I had no illusions about being friends, we we're just colleagues, but that shit is ice-cold man. Because with some of them, I did hang out with in my free time. Out of sight, out of mind I suppose.

It reminds me of a quote by Tom Stoppard: "We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered".

Give them a call dude. Sometimes people are sitting there thinking the exact same thing as you.

...I should take my own advice.

But that would mean breaking out of character. @Sprony are you sure you want people to know you're not actually a cybernetic organism.. living tissue over metal endoskeleton?

Did you have a farewell party/drinks or something @Sprony?

    Otherwise what @Vaya said :)

Great quote by the way! Really is appropriate. It also makes me think about what an Italian guy I know said about people in London: "this is like a port and you don't make friends, people come and go and basically you don't get attached because you expect them to leave. Also if they are Brits they are cold".

This is by the way from someone that I visited before moving here and when I reached out to spend some free time was never available and coming back to me :D

Some girls that have left this place where I work, I'm still in contact with, we actually went on a weekend break together and we plan to keep doing that every year.

Normally I would agree. But in this case, seeing as how I went out, the ball should be in their court, not mine. Besides, I still have friends that work for the company and we keep in touch. I'm purely talking about people at the venue I've worked. My 'real' friends within the company all work at different locations now. So in short, fuck 'em.

You forget he's from the UK so he's cold and reserved. Even Spock would show more emotion :)

He made sure to print out a black and white photo of himself *framed* and leave it with us in the level area.

My provisional license arrived and I have my first lesson on sunday.

If you don't hear from me on monday, assume I was really bad at my driving lesson.

New monitor arrived last night after 2 weeks of delays.

But it's defective... Gotta send it back.
