Got a hair cut today.
What's going on with your life?

Just got back from Japan for the 4th time now. Got a crapload of new photos for the level design inspiration machine.
I'd consider living there again but probably only if I worked remotely for a company in a different country. They work you harder and pay less there (for programmers).

Hi guys, I've been away some time and thought I'd share some stuff.

This year has also not been without its upsets, namely we lost a dear old Cockatiel of ours to illness at 16 years old, and his mate not long after to what we suspect was a ferret (long story :|) who was sadly only 3.
I hope no one takes this post the wrong way. I know I'm very fortunate to be where I am, and I would just like to share that happiness with friends and peers.
The new job runs a slightly tighter ship than my last so mapcore time has tanked, but I'll hopefully be getting a bit more into the swing of things from now on.
See you around guys

Welcome back @jackophant! Looks like you had a wonderful year (despite some sad news). Congrats man! Remember, you have a happy marriage now. As in, she's happy and you are married

I turned round and I was like errrm, who's this guy shouting my name? Then all of a sudden it clicked! It was awesome to finally put a face and a voice to the name

I think Vivi is secretly stalking everyone on Mapcore. He's trying to assemble the Mapcore Avengers...
Haha, it was pretty much the same thing for me, except I haven't heard his voice before. Somehow Vivi was eerily familiar. The only other similar experience I had was when I met with a WoW-guild back in vanilla, man was that confusing. You get this idea of how people look from just hearing their voice and when you finally meet them it turns out 'that thin person' is actually muscular and long, 'that white germa'n guy turned out to have another ethnicity etc. Really weird and cool at the same time.

Yeah, I'm quite sure there are quite a few people here who have gone past eachother unknowingly.
@jackophant Nice to hear you're back mate. And no you don't sound ungrateful or anything. Happy to see you got some stuff sorted! -
Wear your damn Mapcore t-shirts guys ?

Yeah, that's the one! Thanks
I realise the car makes you feel like you're Ken Block but no way am I going to be doing any silly business... At least not just yet

Cash injection from the untimely passing of grand parents so not minted, just fortunate. It's not like they were cash purchases.

In the last couple months I sold my house, quit my job in Germany and moved back to France to try to solve my couple/family issues, am divorcing my wife after all and joining a game-dev startup, buying a car as my old one died after the drive back home, and searching for a flat to buy in my hometown. Lots of changes, I think for the better, looking forward to having more time for myself!

Dude, that's...a lot. I'm sorry it didn't work out with your wife. I hope you can make good arrangements for your children. I wish you the best man!

Best of lucks man, change can be daunting at times but in the long run it's usually what we needed all along. Good luck on the new gig as well, are you starting the startup yourself?
