Working in this place I am amazed and wonder every week how can certain people carry on with their lives in the current society.

Latest piece of fun is the new housekeeper which started last week.

Second day of work contacts the manager to say can't come in for the day because she has to assist the mother in law for chemio. Fair enough, then without warning stays home rest of the week.

Comes in again this Monday. Tuesday was off, Wednesday texts the manager she has a migraine so she'll stay home. Today, Friday, she gets the official welcome in the team during the morning meeting, two hours later disappears. Turns out she "was feeling ill" and went home only texting the manager that wasn't even in.

I mean what the actual fuck?! How can you leave your workplace without telling anyone.

But shouldn't be surprised by that, since Monday left work without checking/asking for her shifts the rest of the week.

Spent the last few days running away from this, thankfully (well, for people in my area at least) it turned North. Florida will be eventually entirely underwater.

After a year and a bit I have finally installed my SSD with windows 10. Now to deal with reinstalling everything.

Yeah I preset that up before the wipe.

Beside my weight loss (=>here), my final year project from few months ago has been nominated to the french Ping Awards 2016 in the "Best student project" category. Hope we'll win it this time.

After two months of complete bordeness at work, the last three weeks have been crazy. You'll hear about the game pretty soon I love having many things to do at the same time ahah it keeps me in shape. But, in the mean time, I've started to look for another job (*wink wink* people) as I have absolutely no clue on what's gonna happen after the release of this game. I can't say I'm happy even if the team and the project are great. I need serious challenges and I don't know if I can have some if I stay here I sincerely don't know what would be best for me.

@TheOnlyDoubleF I'm sure that with your pedigree and possibly a winner student game (or probably very well placed anyway) you won't have much trouble to find a desk in another studio ?

Computer bricked after win10 auto update

Tried restore point and backup copies to no avail. Had even more trouble creating a USB bootloader, but got that going and trying again to fix.

That's odd. Bricked as in unable to boot completely?

Usually when the windows update fails to install, it reverts your system automatically to the last known good state before the update.

If you can boot to windows, have you tried a system file checker to see if you corrupted some system files? (sfc/scannow in an elevated command prompt)

If all else fails, and If I may suggest, try a repair install from a clean ISO file (you can download directly from Microsoft's site); this will make sure all your system files are restored correctly while keeping your personal files and settings intact (make sure to check "keep personal files and settings" when you launch setup and backup your personal stuf, just in case :))

Made an iso and got it reinstalled. I'm lucky to have all my data on other drives and its a matter of reinstalling apps. I came over from win7 so a clean install is probably for the best.

Just moved to a new apartment. still getting everything sorted. All in all, only things that went wrong were breaking my cell phone (replaced), and issues with washer/dryer delivery that I am taking care of today. I expect to be back doing design and 3D in the next few days.

So this friday I randomly ran into @General Vivi in the Overkill offices.Turned out he's grooming one of my students doing an internship. The world might be smaller than you think, but the games industry is smaller. Funny thing was we talked for about 15 mins before realizing 'who we were', haha!

That's awesome! I bumped into Vivi at E3... I was walking in to the convention centre with some colleagues and all of a sudden I heard someone calling my name... I turned round and I was like errrm, who's this guy shouting my name? Then all of a sudden it clicked! It was awesome to finally put a face and a voice to the name

I think Vivi is secretly stalking everyone on Mapcore. He's trying to assemble the Mapcore Avengers...

So far I've never spotted a Vivi in the wild. Bumped into @e-freak at a local game dev meet-up in Frankfurt a couple of weeks ago tho
