I totally didn't mind the sequences in Max Payne in the first play through (except some checkpoints) problem is they were used to load content (apparently) and so when you are playing different challenge modes, it's unnerving not being able to skip.

Max payne 3 cutscenes were a menace, in addition to that same effect they used over and over and over. If the level of cutscenes in this game aren't decreased by a huge factor, it's going to be boring. Especially if the cutscenes are there just to make this game only longer to last.

I still don't know what kind of game this is supposed to be, survival-horror-shooter? Those "gameplay" trailer really don't show much. The setting and art style are nice and fresh though, so I still have high hopes for this.

I've been following this from the start. But however pretty and original it looks it just doesn't convince game play wise. I wouldn't mind if it's an interactive movie but it's rumored that the campaign takes about 5 hours to complete. That's just not worth the full retail price. I'll wait for the reviews and if positive, I'll still wait for a hefty price cut.

Yes, I've heard about that 5h campaign

I don't mind a short campaign if it's excellent while it lasts, but based on what I've seen so far then it looks like a gorgeous but average cover based shooter with very few tricks up it sleeve in terms of gameplay. Will wait for some reviews before I do anything

Sure, I'm all for quality over quantity. Hell, I've played indie titles that lasted 2 hours and made more of impact on me than games that took 20 hours. It's just that you can't really justify a 60 dollar game for a 5 hour SP campaign with no replay value (if the rumors are true). Especially when you know that the very next day the second hand market will get flooded with copies and it will loose it's value at warp speed. Why buy something for 60 when you can probably get it for 30 within 2 weeks?

TBH I've never seen much point in pre-ordering. Too many games that just don't live up to the hype. By now it's a rare occasion that I buy a game on Day 1 actually. 2nd hand discounts that you mentioned and especially sales on Steam make me wait a few months and then get the game for a lot less nowadays. F2P games also have an effect on my perception of prices surely and I'm not saying all of this is a good thing, but it's how I feel and I'm probably not alone.

The second point which might be interesting to discuss is if this is a warning flag for AAA developers on current consoles. The question of whether an SP game with that kind of production value is sustainable.

Yes, good point about the warning flag. Same goes for pre-ordering. But now all of us should have been burned at least once. I'm not doing it anymore either, unless it's GTA. Also, the whole DLC thing has gotten seriously out of hand. Especially Ubisoft with it's 200 different versions at launch. Or even better, Evolve with it's clusterfuck of a marketing scheme.
