Though I'm thrilled that they're doing a new Uncharted, because you just know it's going to look absolutely incredible, then I'd be more excited if their first PS4 title was an entirely new IP. I loved Uncharted 3, even with its difficulty spikes, but letting the franchise rest for a few more years wouldn't be a bad thing.

And yeah, doing a new character could be a really interesting direction for it, though at this point it feels like too bold of a move considering that Nathan Drake is these games.

Anyway, a new Naughty Dog game is the primary reason why I'm getting a PS4, so if they are going to show off some actual stuff in a few weeks then a release for next year seems like a possibility, so that's good ~

Someone just pointed out to me that Uncharted 2 didn't have a proper title when it was announced, so they'll probably reveal the actual name of it in time... Uncharted 4: Drake's Inception?!!

Haven't they said that they are working on a new IP as well?

Wow, we are already rebooting games from the previous generation? (But yeah, i though as well it may just be for tease.)

(As per TLOU, didn't they advertised it as a one-off project all along – until maybe after it came out)

WTF! Why are the Dutch always forgotten? We gave you Australia, we founded New York (Nieuw Amsterdam) and Kaapstand (Capetown), we owned Indonesia, Brazil, South Africa, Suriname, Antilles, etc.

PS: The Flying Dutchman could be a nice Uncharted tale.

    Welcome to the club, ahah.

Amy Hennig, the creative director on the Uncharted series, has apparently left ND.

Citing numerous "trusted sources" close to Naughty Dog, IGN reports that Hennig was writing and leading the development of the next instalment of the Uncharted series for PlayStation 4 before her final day with the developer on March 3. According to IGN, sources claim the creative director was "forced out" of the company.

Seems like a bunch of NDs leadership have left recently, what with Amy Hennig, Richard LeMarchand ... didn't Jacob Minkoff leave aswell ?

Well, LeMarchand was a while back, donno about Jacob Minkoff tho, from the IGN article then it kinda sounds like a lot of the Last of Us team is taking over the Uncharted production.

My impression is that Naughty Dog seems to have something of a low employee retention rate reputation tho, seems like their productions usually have a bunch of people flock out afterwards (though I guess that can be said for most large studios that crunch hard).

I believe i remember reading an artist posting here moved from Crystal Dynamics to Naughty Dog, and several employees interviewed in the "making of", said that ND "feels like a family"

Yeah but that was a marketing video

You always get people like that at every company (or so I've found so far), proper brown noses that think the world shines out of the managements' arse. It's never all rosy and nice, there's always stuff bubbling under the surface!

Perhaps, but that's kind of a cliche. It'd be more surprising if they didn't say that.

WTF is going at Naughty Dog. First Amy Hennig, then Justin Richmond and now Nate Wells. That's two game directors and a Lead Artist.

After a long project, you do normally get quite a big staff turnaround. From my experience, a lot of people, myself included, suffer from 'grass is always greener' syndrome (an actual medical condition), where you always see the flaws of the company you work for, and think things are always gonna be better elsewhere.

Chances are, other studios will just have their own set of problems, and things won't neccessarily be better.

But who knows, that's just from my experience.

But sometimes if you are offered something like a 25k salary bump (not too uncommon) people can be persuaded to ignore those problems
