That image is amazing. Very nostalgic just seeing those things, and some nice trivia — had no idea Nintendo funded development of the PS1 and then screwed Sony over LMAO. Major backfire there.
I was a little saddened to see that the machines that dominated my early childhood aren't included, but they were technically computers I guess. Here's my history:
Just writing out that list has brought memories flooding back. 
Playing through games like Monkey Island and Dizzy with my dad on his Atari ST, playing on my Game Gear while living in York for a year (a particularly happy year in my memory) although I had to plug it in constantly because it ran out of batteries in minutes, going through Metal Gear Solid 2 in one epic session because I had no memory card and was shitting myself in case my mum turned it off while I was at school...
Shit man, the world would be so lame without games. 
The one thing I hope more than anything is I keep my eyesight, hearing, etc so I can play loads of games when I retire and live in a retirement LAN centre!

I own the Xbox 360, which is my first proper game console.
I inherited an Atari XE in my childhood from my cousin, but it's not listed because it's considered a computer I guess (it had keyboard and ports for printer and music keyboard). Games with the infrared pistol were a blast, and some 16-bit stuff I still think about it sometimes, I regret we sold it.
My father has always been a geeky guy, he got an MSX and then it was all PC marvels when they came out... I remember I was the first in my school to have a computer with a CD-ROM
I remember I wanted a GameBoy, but my parents considered it too expansive and got me Batman Return's GIG Tiger

No, I never played it but I heard enough bad things about it though. Back then I was very interested in the 7th Guest. Since we didn't have a PC I never got the chance to play FMV horror games that were really booming back then. It was also the only game my friend had (I didn't own the CDI).
Thank you. It was actually pretty cheap to get. I don't know if it's the same in your country though. I visit a site similar to Ebay (without the auctions) once a day. I'm always on the lookout for big sales (multiple games/consoles). I never pay too much and sometimes I get really lucky because someone doesn't know what they are selling 
Anyway, I keep what I want and I sell the rest with profit. My entire Genesis collection is worth about a 1000 euros and it cost me less than 100. All you need is time and effort
Master System, Sega Genesis Mega Drive, SNES, PS2, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, 360, PS3, Wii, Ouya*. I also did a lot of gaming growing up on the Amstrad 464 and Amiga 1200.
* I have paid for an Ouya. They have claimed to send me it twice now, once more after I contacted them, and I still haven’t received it.

It probably should be included for sheer notability, but the image generally leaves out computers (Ataris, Amigas, Macs, Windows PCs) even if they were/are popular gaming platforms.

You're missing the point, you play games on the ZX Spectrum, unlike amiga pcs, macs etc you don't do anything else with it...
Well, we never had a Speccy because we owned an Amstrad 464 instead. However, some of my friends had them and as far as I can remember the ZX Spectrum had RGB out so you'd need to plug it into a monitor, no joypad support so you'd have to sit at your desk facing said monitor, and it could run compilers (for all those listings), word processors, spreadsheets and databases. Yeah, okay, modern consoles do a lot more than just play games but I don't think this is a console... If you just mean the overwhelmingly majority of software was games you'd also have a strong case for the MSX (and maaaybe the PC-98).

Well, that's the thing, yes you can, you can program! The ZX Spectrum is basically a computer, a very primitive one but you can code a lot of shit in it, games as well. In fact all the ZX Spectrum games, are coded on a ZX Spectrum (afaik)
I think my father used it to learn his first steps in programming, and I remember I used to play on it and it was a paint to load the games with the weird console command line and the cassettes.

Haha, yeah it was a capable little thing, and also pretty snazzy-looking considering its age! My dad has one in almost perfect condition that he sometimes sets up for a nostalgia fix, lol.
