Bro tip - weight is the WORST way to measure your progress !

Even if you don't do weight training? I just do cardio and then it shouldn't be a problem right?

Anyway, I did make progress, my stamina is so much better now.

That 2 kg you've gained after that rampage is 70% water. The best measure is mirror IMO

Along with the mirror, measuring body fat % with some proper callipers.

To give you some perspective on how much weight you can lose and gain in a single day I weighed myself this morning: I was 64kg after food and drinking water I'm now 66kg. Your weight will fluctuate all day. My body fat is 10-11%

It's time. Going to put some effort into workout/diet as I want to lose some reserve kilos I have. Going to depart from my "eat whatever the fuck I want, when I fucking want"-lifestyle. Thanks for sharing tips and info in this thread (mkanderson most recently)! Current Puddy specs:

    Height: 1.96m

    Current weight: 93 kg

Highest recorded weight: 103 kg (4-5 years ago)

Lowest recorded weight*: 83 kg (after hospital stay lmao)

    *when fully grown

Was actually closer to 94kg when I wrote this. 92 now anyway! That was the easy kilos, now comes the grind. No muscle building stuff atm, just exercise. On a good day, 30min every morning, 60min every evening. On a bad day, only one of those.

Really need to get a good grip of my diet now for this to be feasible!

So quick update. I'm still making slow progress, running is getting easier and I've levelled up a weight on the dumbbells.

With the weather being nicer it's tough to avoid a blow out binge at the weekends with BBQs and trips to the pub with friends. Got to have some fun though

You can still have fun dude, you can still eat bbq's and drink, just mind what it is that you have. I tend to go for guinness over beer or lagers due to less carbs and calories per pint. But if I do go for lager I make sure not to have too many. And avoid having lots of burgers and bacon, stick to chicken and stuff.

I've been very lazy lately, haven't made good use of my membership at all.

Anyway, need a good diet for getting my abs out, any suggestion?

I'm a glutton so I know I must cut on cakes and the likes, but then what?

You'll probably laugh, but I don't think I need targeted exercises, till July you could almost see my abs, then I let myself go. Actually I think they would display too much if I'd exercise much, the top ones, those near the stern, protrude a bit from the ribcage line… so because of this I think I'd look even worse if I bulk them up, it'll look like I've a swollen belly.

I think I should do loads of cardio, but I had to stop running because a heel pain and I have a problem on my left knee for which doctor told me I should stop jogging at all couple years ago. Trainer at gym said that rowing machine could also worsen my heel problem so I'm kinda lost. Right now when I go I do 20-30 min of cycling, but that's not good for knee as well (I think).

    Suggestions?

Do biking, see if you can hook up with weekend bike rides. I did one back in may and it was awesome. 250 km in 3 days.

Abs is all diet. Don't eat shit. Examine your caloric intake and macros.

Ye thought so. How do you keep track of calories? Never done such thing. I know there are apps but always been too lazy to try.Macros?

Also up to July I was also doing much more work on my own at the workplace, we are most staffed and I got a promotion so I'm doing a quite less now.

I use myfitnmesspal to track what I eat. I highly recommend it! If you're serious about getting into shape then you need to track what you eat

Man those protein bars, while they taste nice are a waste of money I think. I much prefer making my own

Well you are 100% right, but sometimes I like to eat those, and to be honest, it is not as expensive as I thought it would be
