One of Giant Bomb's main forces who was tremendously popular and arguably influential has unexpectedly died at just 34:

    http://www.giantbomb.com/articles/ryan-…2013/1100-4685/

I don't know how many dudes here follow the site and/or have tuned into his podcasts on there and GameSpot, but even if not it's still pretty fuckin' sad that he's not only died so young but also while on his honeymoon after getting married a week or so ago. Crazy stuff.

If nothing else it's another reminder (after losing MapCore's own MrH2o and engineer) that we need to fuckin' live life while we have it. Shieeeeet.

Saw a twitter that he only had 10-12h of sleep over 3 days or something? That, along with his weight could be an explanation but I ain't no doctor and they didn't release a statement.

    So very very sad

Reminder: Stop crunching, it's not worth it.

yeah, read about it this morning and was a bit shocked by it...

I still remember when he and Jeff Gerstmann founded GiantBomb, it was just the both of them in a shitty office back in 2008 I believe. I'm very curious to know the reasons on why and how he passed away, but it seems to me his weight didn't make it any better. I am NOT judging, just saying it's a good reminder to us all workaholics that working hard is important, but staying healthy is just or even more important. (Easier said than done... I've been trying to change my work and life habits for years)

    RIP Ryan.

Yeah, absolutely tragic . In the old Gamespot days I consistently liked him when the others were tiresome and over the last year I've been going more and more often to GiantBomb, and the Bombcast has taken over the place as my favorite gaming podcast, with Davis being a vital personality in making it work.

34 years old, and just married. This is probably the most affected I've ever been by a death that hasn't been family or friends.

That's the tweet I meant about lack of sleep (I assume is what he meant?)

After reading that, it scares me quite a bit. I've been going to bed around 5am for the last few days and then having to wake up again for work. I'm not overweight, but I'm prob not that healthy either. You just never know, scary stuff.

Well, I finally started jogging last week, and I've been doing it regularly. (At least every two days) and I already feel better, I can't explain it but you do feel healthier and with more energy and all it takes is one hour of your day. I don't need to get pumped, but I got really fed up of feeling out of shape and tired all the time. If anything, this gives me even more motivation to make a change.

Yeah, gotta admit this has inspired me (or frightened me) to start doing a session every couple of days. I used to do a lot of regular exercise and I know exactly what you mean HP: you just generally feel better all day, every day. More energy, the world seems more wonderful... lol.

Me and a couple of guys do every hour 10 chin ups. Very good way to always come off you seat and bring your blood back to your head

I got to say it improved my energy

I've been going to the gym every day for the second week now and I can say I feel the same way. Let's keep it up!

We should set up a work out thread, keep us in the mood and beating goals!

I love how this guy's death has petrified us all into exercising more.

Ryan was one of my favorite game journalists. The bombcast will never be he same.

I'd be down for an exercise thread. I just got back on the horse a couple days ago.
