    At first glance yeah. But in your hands it's look obvious and very well executed on the UX part. UI needs some improvement. This has been done in less than 7 mouths! I think iOS7 is a good base / refresh for next builds.

    This is going to be one of those things that polarises people. One half will love it, the other will never use an iPhone again, lol.

    I personally think the design ideas are great and it's the first time the actual functional side of the design has been properly overhauled in years. The aesthetic side definitely needs some work, I'm not sure why they feel the need to put such garish colours in at times. I know it's to make a statement, but it just doesn't look that great. Mainly it's the app icons I'm talking about, some of them like the Safari one look legitimately amateur.

    I really, really dislike the current IOs appearance. It just looks old, early-2000s, and just way too "bubbly" for me. Gradients everywhere, drop shadows, etc. I like simple.

    But they went way too far. By making everything so clean and bright, with no edging whatsoever, everything just blends together into a jumbled mess. Some screens I like - particularly the ones where things have borders (phone dialer, enter passcode... weather is okay... ) but most of them take me way too long to recognize what is going on.

    And yes, pretty much every app icon looks like shit.

    Coming back to this, I noticed that several icons aren't horrible simply because of hurting colors and silly gradients: glyphs are larger, and it's noticeable especially in those icons with a circle inside... which almost touches the borders. Add to this that corners have been retouched (here they say it follows the same line of the iMac bezel) and I'm starting to fear for a transition to circle icons a-la iPod Nano

    Icons are also larger +2px.

    Btw, according to an insider, luckily this is WIP.

    So, it's out. It took all night but I got it onto my iPhone 4S last night. I have to say, it's lovely to use. The flat style works very well on a relatively small screen in your hand, even if I still don't like that Safari icon.


    Forgetting the style though, what I really like are the many small improvements to the stuff I do every day. The camera app is much faster and has finally caught up with Instagram, etc; Safari supports more than eight tabs; the UI when making a phone call is much better (I do a lot of conference calls so this is invaluable); texting is slicker; the calendar works better; home screen folders now have sub-pages so they're almost like mini-home screens; transitions are universally better (including stealing Android's lovely fade when turning the screen off/on the notification bar is finally truly useful; and basically there are just improvements to the ease-of-use and presentation of information everywhere.


    So yeah, apart from the style it's definitely a case of iteration over big new features, but I would argue that end-to-end refinement of the UI is something that's been needed for years now.

    I'm really liking it, I keep checking my phone just for the sake of playing with the new UI. The only real issue I ran into was that the iPad music app now sorts albums into lists instead of the old grid view which wastes so much space.

    Just installed this myself, had to set the home screen background to a solid, dark colour as any other background just makes text completely illegible. I can't understand why they removed the soft outline from text and icons, right now everything just blends together into a mess. Also the green and white icons are very difficult to differentiate since the green is so bright in contrast to the white symbols.
