I totally disagree, coming from CS:GO and having played many recent PC CoDs, many people are willing to just plop into a game through matchmaking even on PC (in fact, CS:GO is near dead when looking at the server browser). As for the voice chat, once again having played CS:GO, I'm not so sure I want to hear my teammates. The lack of text chat is a bit annoying though.

Dead? You mean 700 hundred servers with players on them right now? At the lowest point of steams concurrent users.

oh my god was I wrong about the whole dead thing. Last I had checked there were like 5 actually populated servers, now there are tons more (not even including pug servers). Huh.

Today is the last day of the beta... how will I live without this until March 11? ((((((

Honestly, I don't find this beta really crazy. Ok, the gameplay is dynamic etc etc but I hoped that the maps would propose more things using wall run and jump. Here, you just have to double jump to pass through windows or get on walls but... I don't, I hoped so much more cool things in level design that I'm really disappointed.

I promise you, I use as soon as I can these features but the fights on roofs are not interesting, there is no place where we can have wall run fights. WALL RUN FIGHTSSSSS!!! For real! Not only a guy wallrunning and shooting on grunts, but guys shooting at each others between close walls. Just that. I want to try that kind of things. May be it would be shit but it may be a really cool choke point !

So after playing this for 3 days here's some thoughts about the game, I'm only going to mention things I think the game could be improved on, and this is if course all my personal opinion on it.

    - Due to the fast paced gameplay, sniper rifles are pretty much useless. I didn't get to spend too much time with the sniper rifles but I don't like how when you scope in the screen fades to black for a bit, you totally loose your bearings. it also didn't help that I experienced some FPS drop while scoped in, making aiming with a sniper even more hard. On top of that, projectiles from snipers appear to travel much much slower meaning you have to compensate for this and aim ahead of the player trajectory, but since every Pilot jumps around like crazy, hitting a moving target with a sniper is a pain.

What I would love to have tho since this is such a fast paced game, is a Railgun like Quake 3, (or the sniper from UT) a very accurate 'one shot long reload' weapon that inflicts a lot of damage and it's a one shot kill if head shot.

    - I like how short the rounds are, but because of this, every time I look back at my experience of Titanfall it's more about waitning in lobbies for the timer to go down and loading screens.

You have to wait 80 seconds, AND wait for the loading screen AND wait for the short cutscene to play then you're playing the game, this is really annoying I wish the game at least could pre load when everyone's just waiting in the lobby? Also, 80 seconds is a long fucking time, at least put a READY button in there (a la L4D) so when everyone's ready, they can start the match, it's really boring.

    - Player readability is a problem in this game. It might be because of the very noisy and busy art style but also because normal Pilots blend in with the Grunts. In CoD what they do is they give characters a very strong rim light around the model, this helps the models stand out from the environment and helps readability at little bit, I think Titanfall could also try this, at the very least.

    - I would love to see a mode where you get head to head encounters like Bomb Defuse in CS, it would really elevate the competitive aspect of the game.

Changed my mind about this game, I got bored really quickly.. It's fun but after a round you're just left thinking, what was the point in that? It ends after like 5 mins.

I got on really well with the sniper rifle on both maps. Just find a tall vantage point where you can be mindful of whats behind you and let rip. I like that it takes a bit of skill to kill a target not only by tracking them but by leading them slightly as well. To compensate for the scope making your screen go black for a second I'd start tracking the target before I even went into the scope and just guesstimate. Pays to watch your radar a lot as well, regardless of what gun you have. Infact I watch it more than I do my actual crosshair. Habit I picked up from ns2, chase them red dots!

Urghhhh, march feels so far away.

My final analysis of the beta:

    1) The gameplay is fairly simple but has nuances...as the saying goes "easy to learn but hard to master." I like 'simpler' games with tons of subtle depth and Titanfall delivered (at least that's my impression from the beta).

    2) It is familiar to anyone who has played MP shooters, yet definitely has something fresh about it.

    3) ...#2 said another way, It's derivative. But that's good. Mechs aren't new. Wall running and double jumping have been done. Cloaking has been done. AI grunts (wait have MP shooters done that?) are what we play against in SP games all the time...so it's been done. Perks and leveling have been done (CoD 4!). What has not been done is the way it all comes together.

Thus, I'm sold. Congrats, Respawn. Can't wait for March 11.

To add to the readability point, then I can't be the only one that was tricked by the enemy Titan's having a blue shield around them the first bunch of times, thinking they were friendlies. Might not make any sense if they had red shields instead as it's not a UI piece, but in video game logic it would. Alternatively just having a plain white or gray shield would probably fix it.

I really enjoyed the beta, except for the titan combat which got boring really fast. Basicly boiled down to holding down left mouse button until enemy titan died. So I spent most of the time jumping around looking for infantry action. Maps look great and everything feels really smooth

I'm in the same boat as Pampers really. The Titans are cool and all that but the pilot gameplay is a lot more fun.

I play a lot of hard point and often I just call my Titan down and get it to follow me around. Gives me a bit of extra cover whilst I capture the point and then I just jump in it between hard points so I don't get lcoked on by that damn pistol
