Feels like a jump the shark moment to me. The franchise lost most of its good will.

Man it really is a dark day when this is the first thing full of shit cunts focus on when they get a new game: hastily switch on some texture detail settings and then proceed to run around and hump the walls and complain they saw a low res paint bucket mesh and record a youtube video of it with commentary so other people can watch it instead of just playing the game as it was intended.
And then create another one talking about how they're a fucking idiot but oh look this flag texture is still kinda low res, lol, terrible, lol
It's not a fucking material simulation program, it's call of duty.
'Dated looking mess of a game'.
Jesus fucking christ.
brb, gonna try quitting the internet forever.

At least TB admits to his fuck ups. Not defending him or anything, just sayin

Well, somehow this game opens a next-gen market and as compared to Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4 it looks dated. Not really I care about it, I'm more interested about the gameplay and level design which is a bit messy and unclear. Somehow I'm disappointed with COD:Ghosts as for the next-gen game and nice MP shooter...

I hate TotalBiscuit.
Fucking blabby brit cunt lmao.

TB is spot on !

That guy in the video is exactly the kind of PC master race guy I don't really like too much. We all enjoy good graphics, right? But going around examining paint tins and cloths without even mentioning the overall art direction and look seems ridiculous to me. Those kinds of guys don't even care that much about the game or style itself, just the measurable parts. It's like camera nerds who spend millions on certain lens and sensor specifications but pay no attention to the overlook look of the photo.
With that said, I am surprised by some of the low-fidelity stuff going on in Ghosts. I remember reading an interview with someone from Infinity Ward who was saying that they were building the assets to a 'cinematic spec' (i.e. good enough for use in a movie) and then removing detail/resolution in order to make them run on whatever platform they target. Not a bad idea, would be very useful for later re-releases and such. Surely every asset should look great if they were doing that? I guess it's possible they just went too far with downscaling certain things.
Personally, I'd love to see all games made like that. Obviously you can never beat making a game from scratch for current hardware, but imagine if in 10 years time they could just re-release Deus Ex: Human Revolution with every single asset in the game being way more detailed because they built everything to that spec in the first place. It's a good long-term strategy that would go some way towards making games as timeless as classic films, but it'd require a shift in terms of how games are made and financed.

Wow look how similar the current-gen and next-gen versions of Ghosts look:

To me it looks like a great-looking current-gen game but an unremarkable next-gen game. I'd even argue that in some cases the current-gen version looks better because (bizarrely) they're using different colour grading for the next-gen version.
Going to be exciting to see how much better games look once they stop trying to work on current-gen too.

Who could have predicted the level design would be messy and unclear... CoD maps are literally the dev texture maps of the professional industry. Just random areas where people kill each other.

Thrik, after that vic there is no point for waiting for the next gen versions, lol just some bigger contrast and shaders difference there, lol. Take BF4 on ps3 it looks like crap mostly. lets be honest, but on ps4 ? this is what i call progression, here is NOTHING

And as for ppl who are bithing about bad graphics, Man next gen is all about graphics cause we have better hardware. Of course there is more to do in terms of AI and physics with the new hardware but mostly GRAPHICS are the first step you will notice. In conclusion Ghost is not taking ANY ADVANTAGES on the new hardware, thats the bottom line -
Guess it's pretty much a nightmare having to co-develop current and next gen in one game...

With ~125 employees? Hell yes, Dying Light have +150 people and it's a madness. The plus is that Chrome Engine is next-gen ready and we have an army of programmers that will make sure it will work fine. I'm not sure how it looks on IW Engine that is a bit dated...

ahh just wanted to post this here.
hahahaha yes, it lame as fuck -
I actually have zero issue with that. Asset reuse should become a more prevelent thing (as long as the visual style is the same, seriously how many times does the same developer have to make a photo realistic bush), it would significantly help with making games cheaper to produce and let you focus on gameplay and new systems.

With assets, sure. But an entire animation sequence? Lmao.

OR help to release the same game with slight variations every year.
