I'm surprised at the lack of flak Blizzard has gotten over releasing a game that essentially is pay to win. Is the game so good that people forgot all about it or is this kind of pay to win okay?
Before you ask,"why is this pay to win, Skjalg?"
It's essentially a card game, where you need a certain amount of certain cards in order to beat your opponent and if you want those cards you either have to invest an ungodly amount of time or pay for booster packs (or draft tournaments).
I got on extremely well with it and never even needed any of its P2W shenanigans. It's there for people with no patience, or who are really bad at the game and never win enough to get gold and good cards from the arena.

That is not the case dude, if you play the game enough, you'll understand it's not. You get a 5 card pack very regularly, and you're always getting points to either buy more decks with said points, or get into the Arena which gets you a lot of loot. The more you play, the more you get. This game, as with every blizzard game was built to make you come back to it again and again.
It's a free game man, but as you and I both know nothing in this world is trully free. That said, i'm not of the opinion this game in specific feels pay to win, as biased as that might sound it's my honest opinion.
it like 80% isnt p2w but .... yeah if you come up against a full on legendary control/rushdown deck, you're probably fucked unless you have good cards. JUST LIKE ANY OTHER TCG. Go try MTG, it's horrendously worse.
indeed. And its a random luck game anyway, completely defends what it chooses to give you, I have had games where I couldn't play any card until turn 5.
Had a balanced deck of enough low cards. Its entirely the fault of the random probability of the card draw.
Yup even with a deck of good balanced costing cards you can still get fucked over massively by the random draw.
It's a rare occurrence but can still happen now and then.
well it is a card game lol

So... we agree then? I was maybe overstating things when I said you'd have to invest an ungodly amount of hours into it to get a good deck but consider this.
I've played the game for a couple of hours. I have almost no cards compared to those of my friends who have played a hundred hours. But I've watched a lot of videos and I don't consider them to be better than me. But it's practically impossible for me to beat them, because I don't have the cards. Skill doesn't even factor into it at that point. But could I could shell out the $$ and then start winning... Which, to me, is pay to win.
Granted, they make it feel fair because they always match you up against other people who has the same amount of "skill" (cards) as you. But if you play a private match against a friend you will start to feel the pay to win element.
Now consider Dota 2 in comparison and you'll know what I mean when I say that a free to play can actually be that without it putting breaks on the game play.
Two of the best decks in the game right now cost like 400 arcane dust to craft. You know, like a third to a quarter of the price of ONE legendary card. To me, that doesn't exactly sound like pay-to-win. Hell, I drafted one of those decks with cards I just had lying around and only had to craft a few (cheap) cards to finish the deck. And I don't exactly have an extensive card collection either.
