In a way it looks like this is a classic 'giant monster in a city' type film, Godzilla-esque. Most of the marketing doesn't seem to be showing that side of it so much, I guess robots are more marketable. But I love that kind of stuff so some robots vs giant dinosaur shit sounds good to me.

Also it's good to see Stringer Bell appearing in more stuff, really great actor.

Does no one care that this is directed by the same guy that did pans labyrinth?
-
-
I really liked the Hellboy films personally, especially #2 which had some crrrrrazy shit going on. Overall I have a lot of faith in the guy.
-
Quote from KoKo5oVaR
I love Pans labyrinth but; well, Jean pierre jeunet directed Delicatessen, but he also directed .. Alien 4
I get your point but that is also such a huge genre jump for that director to make, no wonder it sucked.
Toro has a thing for monsters (hellboy 1+2, pan's) and I feel this movie will definitely be fun. Why is it that the internet seems to dislike large, big budget summer blockbusters?
-
Maybe Transformers put a lot of people off big robot films, which is kind of understandable after that series' rapidly declining quality. But there's nothing I can see to suggest this will be anything short of sweet, so to dismiss it as just a Transformers rip-off like some seem to be doing seems pretty retarded to me.

at first i was strangely apathetic but then i read kojima's tweets and watched that trailer. im ready to do this thang
-
Guys, i've just came back from cinema and this was awesome shit ! good CG, MONSTERS and great action, really cool movie - one of these you should watch in cinema, really liked it
-
So... yeah, I heard this is actually good? I was NOT expecting that. I will reserve judgment...
-
Going to see it tomorrow!
-
This not the movie to see for a story or plot ect, this is the one you should see in BIG screen just for random fun. CG is really good and as far as i don't like 3d this one look good. Big fucking robot and big monster (some of them look very alike the one in Cloverfield project) crushing in Hong Kong ? where you get to see this now ?

-
Getting good ratings on Rotten Tomatoes so I'm definitely in.

-
Seen it today with my wife and Deceiver, we all really enjoyed it.
-
I heard its great, but doesn't seem to be doing too well at the box office

-
how can you seriously not expect this to be good? this is guillermo del toro making a movie about mechs vs monsters
that's the equivalent of Martin Scorsese a directing a gangster movie
-
this movie sucks
-
Went and saw this today. Damn that was good. Man of Steel left a shitty taste in my mouth and that got rid of it. I loved the art direction, especially the Hong Kong slums built around the monster ribcage!
