You won't be seeing that game on PC, since according to them no one plays FPS games with mouse+keyboard anymore.

I think his comment wasn't quite meant the way it sounds.
From this article (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-…nection-to-work):
QuoteOn the possibility of a PC version, [Bungie COO Pete] Parsons said: "We would absolutely love to be on the PC. If you talk to the people upstairs, we play it on all platforms. So, stay tuned."

out of curiosity, what do you think is wrong with the gameplay in Halo? i've honestly had more fun with Halo than most other FPS's, at least in terms of singleplayer. hating halo seems to be the gaming-equivalent of hating justin bieber.

I love Halo's gameplay, has some of the best combat AI around, at least harder difficulty levels, but I know I'm in the minority here.

Fun fact: Halo 2's making off had a great influence on me deciding to become a game developer.
Halo 2 special edition was one of the first games I bought for XBox. After playing the game and having a blast, I opened the extras and watched the making off, saw the guys talking about design decisions, working with 3D, talking about the inside of game dev etc. I was mind blown!

Then, I searched for making off of all games I had. Found the Splinter Cell, watched that and continued to pursue my dream.

Well first off I played through the first 2 extensively and played maybe 15 mins of 3 and no 4. Played singleplayer, coop and multiplayer.
I'll just make a quick list of the things that annoyed me the most:
1) The library level in Halo1. This has to be one of the worst levels I've ever played. I thought the game was broken or something the first time I played it.
2) I didn't like the feel of most of the weapons.
3) Level design in general was boring for me. It was basically fight a bunch of guys to get to the next checkpoint.
4) Gamepads
5) Multiplayer competitive was merely ok. I much preferred countless hl mods or quake dm.
6) Characters were boring. It was like some kind of generic all-story. I don't really like a story that much in my FPSes unless it's a game like system shock which arguably might not be considered an FPS.
7) The streets level in Halo2 also stood out to me as boring (though not nearly as bad as the library).
Regenerating health.9) Floaty jump physics.
Those would be off the top of my head. The level design would be the thing that annoyed me the most. Usually if the level design is not great I just forget about it. In this case with levels like the library they were so bad I actually remember them.
Anyways bear in mind I'm one of those old man grumpus FPS players who still loves Doom today. I play Brutal Doom a ton. I also love the quake dm's, So take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Doesn't sound like you can be bothered, but you should give Halo Reach a chance. It's by far the best of the series.
I definitely agree with what you're saying about the first two games, the Library level from the original Halo was plain awful, but it also highlighted one of the main problems with the original Halo in that they copy/pasted the same geometry over and over to add more length to the game.Halo 2 didn't click with me at all, it's the only Halo game I've only played through once.
And yeah, the story in those games is complete garbage. They should try and tell smaller stories and focus on the gameplay, rather than overstretch and completely alienate everyone.
Anyway, Reach co-op on Heroic/Legendary difficulty is pretty amazing. Both in terms of AI and level design.

Interesting, up to this point I've always hear the first 2 were the best. Maybe that came from nostalgia. I'm sure I will eventually try it because at some point I'll be at someones house who only has an Xbox.

I've heard this a lot, so as a gamer who never played the previous titles, I gave the demo a go: the space combat section is terrible in my opinion, controls are weird. Also I couldn't see motivation for all the praise about the AI in the infantry combat, seemed the average routine to me.
Given the reviews for Halo 4 I was thinking to give it a try.
