Gonna be honest, I don't want to be doing all that moving about shit in my living room lol. The virtual reality stuff I'm totally behind though, especially if it allows me to finally experience immersive 3D (glasses tend to be iffy for me as my left eye is a bit weak, I think the isolation of the Oculus Rift will solve that problem).

oculus headset + peregrine mouse/keyboard gloves would be the dream. no leg movement because that is retarded.

Romero should get in on it too, I don't think he's having so much success with his browser/mobile game gig.

My dad is near enough blind out of his left eye and he said he could see through the Rift just like it was real life. Since you're getting a beam of light to each eye it's no different to just looking with your eyes

Hmm, doesn't seem like it could take off to me — it's just too much. I appreciate that it's probably more advanced and accurate than Kinect and Move, but I'm pretty sure that they could extrapolate more or less the same thing by just observing the body movements of someone wearing, say, a virtual reality headset. I think they could do it well enough for most people to be happy with it, anyway.

Tried it the other day. Pretty neat idea that barely scratches the surface of it's potential.

This is probably the best demo I've tried:

Really? I think it's been overhyped a lot, and wasn't super impressed the times I've tried it. It's still cool and all, but I think it will take a couple of iterations before it's there.

Sure, but it's hard not to think about it as the future of gaming... Just picture the tech in 2-5 years

Yeah, exactly, there's potential. But even an improved Oculus is very, very exciting.
