What's the problem with the shadow thing? Maybe someone can help you out?

I made some adjustments, this should be the final version of the map for testing for Friday

(I really hope it doesn't need any optimizing, it's pretty basic)

    Looks interesting!

Though I recommend that you include a radar (http://forums.csgomaps.net/showthread.php?tid=59).

Yeah, the map really need a radar !

This is the shadow problem I have. I can kill htme, but it need a sv_cheats 1 command.

Maybe you lightmaps are at an odd scale and that's causing the problem?

Nah ! It's the shadow casted by texture skybox. If I type "ent_fire env_cascade_light kill" in the console, te lightong is normal.

I will try without any skybox.

Are you sure you have all the necessary sky/light entities? That happens when you don't have that. Also, is your level properly skyboxed?

Yes, but the thing is there is only a small portion of sky, maybe 5% of the map, so maybe this is the point. I will test that.

BTW, Puddy, don't forget to send me the maps via email so I can upload them to the redirect server. That'll allow randomers / lazybuggers-who-can't-be-arsed-to-download-the-map to join the server.

So I tried my mpa without any sky and env_lights. Failed.

I tried with sky and env_light and directional_light. Failed too.

Here is a screen, the skybox part is in red. The rest of the map is well closed. the shadow thing is sharper on face with low lightmap scale.

We can test it (even if the whole map is full of crap Just need to test it with some guys. but We should set the server on sv_cheats 1 and everyone need to do this : ent_fire env_cascade_light kill

    that's fucking weird man.

have you tried cordoning the map chunk by chunk to see if it's a certain area that's causing the issue? have you tried sending the map to a friend for compiling/testing? have you tried pasting everything into a new map? etc

Maybe the map is just too awesome for Source to handle.

If everything else fails try copy-pasting your map into a new vmf file, it usually solves these kind of weird errors.

3Dnj: do you have a lot of switchable/rotating/dynamic light entities in the area with the fucked up lighting? It seems like you could possibly have to much lightmaps in that spot.

Not sure what env_cascade_light has to do with it though (as it 's apparantly the cause of the problem). Anyone knows how it works?

Env_cascade_light is the thing that cast dynamic shadow on the map. I fI kill this entity, the map works fine.

    So it's not lightmaps.

And yes I have rotating stuff and a lot of light but the map worked in css so it must work on csgo as I removed all missing models and a lot of other stuff. I will try this anyway.

All I can see is the new lighting thing is not working for full or nearly full indoors map.

I tested everything froms post above and nothing is working.
