Very interesting, you brought up some things I've always wondered about. I often use BMD view to look at some of the levels, Still haven't worked out what Windfall Island is called though

-
This looks great! One of my favourite games and am looking forward to going through this.
-
thanks guys
what is bmdview ?
-
Its a program you can use to view game levels in games such as Mario Karts (DD onwards), Mario sunshine, galaxy and the Zelda's ect, Plus you can view objects and characters and are even able to export as .Obj. So you can fly around and get up close to things, and use debug commands. People have used it to put Zelda levels in Mario Galaxy, crazy shit.

Just read the thread, an excellent thread.
I was pretty impressed by how they did the whole sea/tessellation/scrolling texture thing.Wind Waker really was an absolute wonder of design. When it came out I was totally bowled over by how good it looked, even down to things like having (what looked like) depth of field and shit like that. It was just beautiful from start to finish and an absolute masterclass in sophisticated game production.
