Yes, the classic writer bottleneck. The rest is ez. I mean FF15 took a decade to make and the story was still missing.

The best part was the original Ray-man music at the end.

    Oh my god, so good.

Well, I was actually thinking of upping the post since many people seemed interested a few weeks ago. Been too busy so was postponing… was wondering if people should start spitballing and see if there are some good ideas.

also give Reddit a run for their money :D

The catalyst in the stories in Half-life has always been centred around teleportation technology, so I'd be interested to see how that story element could be converted into a gameplay mechanic.

    edit:

There's kinda portal as a reference for it, but using it in a combat setting would make it very different.

    Another edit:

borealis would fit well with that mechanic as well given how that's a teleporting ship.

Unfortunately I didn't bring Rising the bar when I relocated, but in my mind the Borealis wasn't a teleportation device, rather was transporting it (think of the movie The Philadelphia Experiment) or was teleported from Aperture (haven't played Portal 2 so dunno if there they altered what I think was the original narrative). In any case is a "passive" item, so to speak.

Valve hasn't been relevant since 2003 beyond continuing to operate Steam (which is basically a different company by this point). Discuss.

csgo and dota 2 being two of the most popular competitive games in the world, and I guess the vr bit is just a small side project too

You could argue that Valve developed none of those games bar TF2.
