Now that the flash has worn off me, I'm sure the game will be a fun ride/movie, but at the end of the day, I would love to see longer real gameplay scenarios and hopefully not all linear handholdy ones like in 3.

    Incoming D3 rant inbound!

First thing's first, the game looks stunning, the graphical detail is extremely high and looks almost real at times.

With that out of the way, Secondly; I was bored watching the gameplay...

Honestly, how much actual effort is required of the player these days? Shoot some bad guys, scene changes and then press E to cut someone's leg off (I'm no expert but surely it takes more than one single slice of a combat knife to take off a limb?). Yes it's all very well done and a lot of "cool stuff" happens but it's the same old as BF3/COD only it's got a brand new more sparkly lick of paint (and if it's anything like BF3's campaign or Warfighter you can shove it because those campaigns are diabolically bad). A single shot from a grenade launcher takes out an Mi-28 gunship... seriously?! I don't expect such a title to be realistic but cmon that's taking the piss...

Maybe it's just me but I expect to you know, actually a play a game rather than sit through a cinematic, semi-interactive movie? If I wanted that experience, I'd play Heavy Rain.

Man, that does look fantastic. But so did Battlefield 3 SP, and I couldn’t finish it, gameplay is just not interesting enough. Graphics can only hype you so much.

I love me a good SP game with interesting gameplay and story (like Bioshock) so, I hope they make the SP a more vivid and “gamey” experience, and less of simulator/shooter, never gonna happen tho.

I would love this to be true, but damn. He is talking about NOT making a game where you need to press "X" to win, and at this point you are looking at the scene where you need to press "X" to cut your mate leg to "win". The same for shooting the window, ok you dont need to do this, but you wont progress in the game if you wont couse you will die (but this might be not the best example)

The 17min demo didn't show any alternative routes, just going through a corridor with the rest of you team mates, only at the end was a lil bit more space to flank the jeep ect, ehh still i hope he is not bulshiting us

Battlefield is founded on its fantastic multiplayer so why do they feel the need to push this single player stuff in our face? Leave the single player to other games. Give us that sweet sweet mp action that battlefield is loved for.

God damnit the first in game video footage for this game should be a load of guys in a jeep zoomingaround with c4 strapped to it crashing into tanks.

Like me, I don't play any MP games whatsoever nowadays. And last time I did, was l4d, TF2 and CS:S, before that loads of Quake3.

MP games man, I got one gif for you

    Fiction.

I don't know if "uncanny valley" applies for graphics in general, not just facil expressions. But as games approach extreme levels of realism, lack of some things make it feels odd. (ex: character face remains the same even after going through explosions, clothes doesn't rip or get dirty, no bruises, etc).

It's a fair point. Things like that make a bigger difference to the immersion of a game than a lot of people realise I think. I remember the first time I saw clothes realistically getting wet in Uncharted and was like "Omg ".

DICE have provided some broad hints about what they’d like to achieve with Battlefield 4′s multiplayer. In an interview with YouTuber

the company’s general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson reaffirms that multiplayer is “the heart” of any Battlefield game, before hinting at a surprising area of interest for the team. “I can’t talk about the specifics because we’re not announcing them,” he said, “but I can say that e-sports is an area that we are very interested in.” Excitingly, this raises the possibility that one day there might be a world champion in defibrillation.
