Marketing...sigh.
-
October 2013 here we go.

-
Didn't see that coming.
-
So they're going to utilize the Call of Duty marketing ploy and ruin yet another franchise? Jesus titty fucking Christ, EA! Do you know any bounds?!
In any case, I hope they set it during World War 2. That would seem like the most logical approach to appease the loyal fanbase. If it's another modern rehash, I'm going to punch a fucking baby.
-
Please excuse me while I go and create videos of unparalleled levels of in-game destruction, all-out vehicle warfare and redefined online gameplay.
-
So .... Battlefield 2143?
-
I really hope this goes back to WW2, or perhaps back to a 2142 style, set in the future. Those battles on the Titans were so damn awesome, shooting up to them from an APC.
-
-
double-word! and the advantage of a 2142 setting is that you can use the sci-fi setting to introduce mechanics that would feel unrealistic in a contemporary setting.

-
For some reason I was never hooked into 2142. There was something about the gameplay mechanics that just didn't appeal to me. Granted, the Titan battles were certainly awesome, the overall feel to the game didn't seem polished to me. It seemed like a high quality 1942 mod without the finesse of a finished product.

Am I the only one who is happy about this? lol
MOAR BATTLEFIELD. YUSSSS
Edit: This guy put it pretty well imo http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/battl ... oblem.html
-
a new 2142 plx
-
Current day military games are so over now, scifi is coming big time, and then I predict some good old WW2 to be recycled. Oh wait, this happened before didn't it :cop:
-
We had BF: Vietnam so how about;
Battlefield 4: Korea - The Forgotten War
No...? Oh ok then

-
As long as it has day 1 DLC I'm in...and a required subscription fee to play online...and kinect only on Xbox, move only on PS3, iPad controls only on PC...and the singleplayer damn well better require an online connection and credit card age verification...and EA better force me to sign up for EA.com membership and mess up the connection to required Origin account even if I get it on console...and PC version better not have dedicated servers...and please don't release mod tools...and please nerf everything...and put every vehicle on rails in the SP...and it must have QTEs throughout...and don't forget the bullet time...don't forget to add pink (girls like pink right?)...oh bring back in game ads everywhere, cause I want to learn about the newest scents of Axe Body spray...oh i love long loading times...
Can't wait!
[edit] couldn't help it...sunday's stomach flu took a while to burn off. nothing like the taste of bile and total dehydration to bring out the cynic in me. Really...i liked bf3 so i hope bf4 doesn't go downhill.

I'm excited, but I think after such a huge gap between BF2142 (best in the series yet) and BF3 it feels weird to be getting another so soon.
I hope it's a dramatically different setting and tone, as BF3 along with its expansions has pretty much done the modern thing to death. -
The gaps between the other battlefield games like bad company, 1943, bad company 2 and battlefield 3 haven't been any longer than the gap between bf3 and bf4 will be. Also, by fall next year I will be more than excited for a new battlefield game.
