They originally had no plans to return to the spot, but the spike in interest from the public has led them to begin planning a return trip.
So they found a mysterious object, possibly a UFO, that causes electronic equipment to fail... And they don't wanna go back?
Oh but now there's publicity and they plan on going back?
C'mon, this smells fishy. They probably were exaggerating or lying their asses off...

There is a lot of completely round objects on a ship. Cannon towers, radars, weather stations, also I remember the front of a lot of really big ships have this penis shaped thing in front

Also, regarding the equipment malfunction it can just be a camera malfunction.
But of course, I really hope to be proved wrong and that this is an alien space ship from a galaxy far far away

my guess it's something from ww2 or the cold war. some structure that was shipped over the sea, then sunk and was forgotten because you can only read about it in some military archives
