This all seems to be publisher's pressure to get the game released as soon as possible.

What I find shocking is the budget that was over $68 millions, like wtf? I'm not impressed .. seems like a game that was made for the people who jump on every hypetrain.. omg watch dawgz so cool!

but what do I know, I haven't played it.

The only thing worse than people being disappointed because not every surface in a city has a real-time reflection, is journalists and gamers asking to cut it some slack for being "the first in the series."

What people were expecting, a real life simulation ? I can find hundreds of those glitches in GTA. That's like very harsh and grumpy.

I'm wondering why this game gets all the hate (won't buy it anyway lol) Is it because their marketing campaign created too many over hyped expectations ? Or nowadays players are that picky they want a refund when they have no splach FXs for shots in the water ?

That is really harsh. Most of the stuff in the video may not be perfect, but a lot of it is very minor stuff like the water splashes or the sun that keeps on reflecting on a building in the shadows.

I think it is getting a backslash both because they pushed it so hard for being next gen and awesome, and because perhaps on a bigger scale people are also not yet convinced by what next gen really means. What the value of having next gen consoles really is compared to having PS3/Xbox360s. And when the game doesn't has as many obvious next gen features as promised, bugs, or some graphically cut corners, you get an extra harsh backslash.

Don't really mind about the graphics and I like the combat in this, but some aspects of the game are frustrating me somewhat. Case in point is the mission where you have to infiltrate a multi-story carpark with the objective of finding some guy and 'knocking him down'. Spent about half an hour doing this, tried numerous times to drive in and make it past all the bad guys until I got to the top level - at which point said bad dude would get in his car and try to drive out. I'd ram him until he got out, and then i'd carefully knock him down with my car/van. If he got up I knocked him down again. He wasn't dying, but the objective wasn't completing, so I tried a different approach.

I went for the stealth option and snuck into the lower level of the car park. Hacked a camera and subsequently hacked into a guy with a mounted camera (on his face apparently). This guy slowly made his way upstairs after stopping to examine every wall in the car park, at which point I jumped from his camera to another wall mounted one. I got into a position where I could see the bad guy, looking over the side of the car park having a smoke. Nearby were a few distraction items and on the floor was one of those flip-up barrier things. "Perfect", I thought, I'll get him to walk over the flippy thing by causing a distraction and when he's right on top of it I'll flip him over. Problem was that blowing up wall panels and steam vents didn't cause the required distraction, he simply turned around to have a look, and then went back to smoking, without moving.

Had to resort to looking on YouTube at a walkthrough in the end for how to complete it. Turns out by 'knock him down' I was meant to go up to him and give him a hand to hand beatdown. Ran through shooting everyone in the face with a silenced pistol until I reached the guy and gave him a good beating for wasting my time. Now why is it that my other, more creative methods weren't accepted?

Aside from these issues, my experience is much the same as Grinwhrl's, the more I play the more I enjoy it, but perhaps that's as a result of getting used to what kind of game it actually is

    Should I get this game?

Heh, wondering this too. if you run out of games to play this year, sure, otherwise... wait for it to get cheaper or something, that's what I'm doing.

Yeah, I am still not really convinced. But I might play it too when it gets a bit less expensive.

70 dollar for something I am now sure about is too much

Its $70 in Canada because when our dollar rate goes down by 1 cent our games cost 5 to 10 dollars more, but when our dollar rate is 10x higher than the US, our games stay at 60, because we suck.

That video is really funny without annotations IMO, it's just a load of random footage and I couldn't help but lol at some of the stuff. I think it's unfair to be too critical because of such nitpicks, but I can just imagine someone playing it for the first time and being all 'uhhhhh' at things like the train magically stopping dead.

I've only had one crash so far, but after that crash, the gamerender freezes after 1 sec each time I load a savefile : x The pause menu and HUD is still working, Is there a working fix for this?

edit; making uplay go offline fixed this

Watch dogs looks better than GTA 5 most of the time, in the allies, in and around neighborhoods and inside interiors. Tons of detail, wires, etc. First person driving looks pretty great too, especially when running things over or getting shot at. GTA looked better on the grand scale of things though, especially when flying. For some reason Watch Dogs has these areas that are just awful, and I think its the lack of mountains in the game. However that screenshot above looks like someone running it on the lowest pc settings. I've never seen the game look that bad on PS4.

And to be fair, the game looks no different than this gameplay demo on PS4 -
