What's the point of that, of course it's gonna look different in different platforms.

I was merely posting to illustrate the difference and to show what all the current fuzz is about. Like people claiming that it used target renders as misdirection.

Well I doubt it's misdirection tho. it's not like they're like "Alright, let's show a beautiful game to get people excited, when everyone knows it's not gonna look this good"
Truth is, possibly this game was being done even way before they even had durango and ps4 kits, or when they were just basically a PC box back then, they were developing the game on PC plats, and then they had to retrofit that onto consoles, if I were to bet, that's the reason it doesn't look as good and it's the same reason the game got delaid a few months as well.
it's no conspiracy theory, it's just humans fucking up and patching it up as they go as it always happens!

How dare you use logic on this forum HP?

Bullshit. They outright knew this wouldn't run on those kits like that. I fucking knew it wouldn't back then and neither will the division.

Well, the demo they showed at the PS4 event looks nothing like the last couple of trailers… so i can relate to those who are pissed off for their preorders or are just interested in it.
And HP, after the event an Ubi spokesperson was interviewed by Gametrailers and said that the game was running "on a PC with specs very close to those of the console" since they hadn't official devkits evidently.
…and an argument could be made if you can trust the game is gonna even look good on PCs, at this point if I was going to buy, I would wait for footage from final release.

Just read that developers admit what they presented first was an overstimation of what consoles would have been able to do, and they were pushed by Guillemont himself to present the game too ahead of time
Article is in Italian and i'm too tired to translate or search for the original now.

I think at this point I just need to get it on my TV and see how it looks. I understand the notion that the consoles' strength was perhaps exaggerated, but then look at how good some next-gen games are looking — and also consider how good GTA5 looks despite running on indisputably inferior hardware.
But then, I'm not convinced that the footage we've been seeing is being presented in the best light. For example, that over-analysed footage of the car at night is under a huge spotlight, which clearly washes everything out and makes the lighting look weird. Also the footage itself seems to be heavily compressed.
Of course, there's also the artistic side to things. To me it does seem that the original art direction has shifted, with the game certainly having more colour now. While that's kind of nice, it does change the mood somewhat and robs the game of the distinctive look that it had before. The game now looks and feels more like any other open world game, especially ones that too had fairly bland 'real world' art direction.
It's kind of like how the Director's Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution stripped out the orange filter and toned down a lot of the lighting, which despite hardly being mentioned had a negative effect on the game's virtually perfect look IMO — made it more generic. Personally I think the difference this kind of thing can make to perception is underestimated.

Yeah Thrik, like I wrote earlier in the topic… at this point the only thing to do is wait. If I was ever buying it, I would wait for those comparison videos GT and others do to see if my expectations are fulfilled.

This should be PS4
