Got tickets for it on Saturday, one of the few movies where I can be bothered to actually go watch it in a cinema~
-
I caaaan't wait! I have not watched a single trailer yet, but I asume it will be after the events of quantum of solace, which unlike casino royalle was a very forgettable movie so I must watch it again this week.
-
I don't think it has anything to do with QOS.
-
Saw it earlier, great movie, best I've seen in a while. It did feel just a tad too long around end tho
Quoteand some of the stuff where it got nostalgic with references to old Bond stuff was perhaps a bit too much as well.
Also an absolutely beautifully shot movie, with some gorgeous looking locations (and women
).Still not sure whether I like this more than Casino Royale, but it's definitely one of the best.
-
i saw it because everyone was all over it. i didn't get it, it was extremely long and most of the stuff didn't really make any sense towards the end.
Quotewhat happened to the goddamn list? why not kill the goddamn lady and be over with it, it was obvious the villain would just kill himself after finishing her off, and she was such a goddamn annoying cunt. 2 moments especially pissed me off/made me laugh
the fucking lady in the beginning asks to take the shot, THROUGH ANOTHER PERSON. nobody would do that, it was extremely unrealistic and ridiculous. i thought james bond would be more serious than ren and stimpy. MY BAD
2: the fucking exploding canister IN A HOUSE ON THE GROUND KILLS a fucking helicopter pilot who then leans on the steering apparatus to crash into the house again. it had no place in the movie and just served as an extra explosion. i laughed hard and everyone looked at me like i was crazy.
BONUS: DESTROYING STUFF FOR NO REASON ISNT COOL
I will say Javier can act though, he's probably the only reason i didn't leave the theater at that point.
-
wow so much rage sentura, I'm surprised you like anything at all.
How in the world of fuck can you hate an explosion?
Thats it, you're insane.
-
lol @ nordic types thinking every criticism is rage
ive never disliked a movie before. like ever. i thought prometheus was good shit when everyone else thought it was shit. so dont give me that, skjalg. i didnt hate it, it was just unnecessary. it was probably the best part of the movie because it accentuated how ridiculous skyfall is. and it was funny. in stark contrast to the rest of the movie. which was not funny.
the irony here is that you're raging over me not liking a movie... get over yourself

A good movie is not a good movie if Dux and Sentura love it.
But hey, I didn't see it yet

Loved it!

Just saw it, absolutely splendid film. I seem to be in the minority as someone who really enjoyed Quantum of Solace, but I do think this was a step in a more 'Bond' direction, which let's face it has always held not taking itself too seriously above all else.
Casino Royale was sublime, Quantum of Solace tried to take its formula of 'dark and complex' too far I think, and Skyfall has reverted to being something between the earlier Bonds and Casino Royale — a very good balance IMO.
QuoteJavier was a god damn excellent villain, although ultimately I think it's a shame such a powerful adversary limited himself to a pretty much suicidal personal mission. I'd really like to see a more traditional 'world domination' theme next time around with an honest-to-god supervillain at the helm. Quantum is still kicking around right?
Oh, and props to the new soundtrack dude. I really liked David Arnold who's handled every Bond soundtrack made in my lifetime except one, but Newman did a fantastic job of applying his relatively quirky style to the Bond format and respecting the traditions.
