Stuck on "waiting for server response"

It can't take a while. It can also get stuck. You usually have to try a couple of times. Oh, and open the correct ports on your router. In my experience ArmA 2 is very bitchy about that.

What server are you on Puddy? Can't seem to get into any server 8| Always stuck on loading.

DAYZ Zombie RPG - Norway 1

DAYZ Zombie RPG - Norway 2

Usually, there are som swedish servers too but they have mixed settings (there are nametags, crosshairs etc).

are there any servers with switched day cycles? sucks to play when its pitch black and i want to play now

Each server has an independent night/day cycle.

Had a lot of fun this weekend I was playing with a friend over Skype yesterday but we couldn't find each other. Then today we finally teamed up and looted Elektro. Found a shotgun (he's using a sniper rifle now), revolver, watch, binoculars, map, compass, matches... shitloads of food and pepsi and I got a giant backpack We got doubles of all those gadgets but we couldn't find a hunters knife so unfortunately still no way to regain blood :s

Pretty cool stuff But I think I'm probably gonna grow tired of it soon, once you got all the loot there's not much left to do

Since it's a sandbox, the way to keep things interesting is to set up goals for yourself; to find certain locations, survive for a certain period of time, clean a whole town with guns blazing etc. Lots to do. Also, even after getting good gear survival is not a given. You will be a likely target for greedy noobs and/or bandits. I'm pretty much a paranoid loner because of that.

New update came yesterday, introducing a temperature system. If you run around in rain and cold weather, your temperature will drop and you might catch a cold, which again can infect other players. To get the temperature back up you need to find wood and matches to start a fire Love it

This game is as hardcore as they get. The only thing keeping me from trying it is that Arma II was so buggy it was pretty much unplayable. At least shortly after launch and I never bothered to re-install it.

Fuck, sounds like I have to abandon my lifestyle of living in the middle of nowhere and hunting for food, atleast temporarily, to go search for matches and shit!

I played this game last weekend and had a insane wait time trying to connect. You have to be really patient. Once your in a server it's cool though.

So I was running through the forest out in the middle of nowhere when I notice another player running towards me. I was thinking, finally someone to play with, but then I noticed he had 20 Zeds behind him. I didn't have time to react fast enough so when he ran past and all the zombies killed me.

The new update screwed me up because I can't figure out how to bandage now, so I keep dying from blood loss. What servers do you play on? I usually try the TX ones and then the UK ones.

Had a very cool moment today.

I was skulking around in a wooded area surrounded by fields around two km's north of Chernogorsk. I heard some gunshots from a nearby village and I decided to head to a treeline close to the village. I crouched next to a large tree trunk and observed the village through my red dot sight. I saw movement in a barn maybe 70-90 meters away. A player stormed out of the barn, tailed by 7-8 zombies. He sprinted, then drew his pistol and turned around to face them. I took aim at the zombies with my M14, but held my fire. I prepared to intervene. The player fired 20 - 30 rounds before all the zombies were down. I lowered my weapon. The player started moving slowly away from the village towards the treeline where I was located, but he was facing a slightly different direction. I aimed right at him. He only had a pistol. Basic backpack. Probably wounded and low on ammo. "Should I help him?" Too risky, he could've been desperate and could've opened up on me. He came closer. "Should I take him out?" He could've been a threat. I sighed and lowered my weapon, slung it over my shoulder and headed in a different direction, disappearing into the thick forest. Just couldn't risk helping him and couldn't just kill him. The player never spotted me.

Just love the cautious, rare and potentially volatile interactions between players.

    NEWS!!!

    - You can pick what gender your char will be. This is a one-time choice which will be bound to your FUCKING CD-KEY.

    - You have to stay warm. Which means lighting the occasional fire and staying close to it for a few moments. Very cool. You can chop wood to make a fireplace.

I like the pace at which new features are introduced. The warmth-element feels really balanced, as opposed to just annoying. Features like this really helps the game stay fresh.

I am almost happy every time I die, but only if I reached a new goal

Gonna go to NW airfield soon to try some better weapons, fingers crossed But if I die, meh, at least I made it to some new place!

Do you play with a group of friends or lonewolf?

Well, thing was I'd been playing the same character for 11-13 hours, so I was actually pretty heavily invested in that "life" so to say. And the fact that I died by being in a tent when a player joined the server, spawned there and shot me on sight wasn't too fun.

You gonna die son, GLHF! How many times have you died by the way? Sounds like a regular activity.

I alternate between the two. I really appreciate a good lonewolf session, playing with friends makes everything a bit safer and you lose the sense of desolation and loneliness. How about you?

Atm I'm probably down to 10-ish hours as well on my current character (it says Day2 when I log in, not entirely sure what that means). I've got almost everything I want (at least the stuff that's common), 8 pieces of meat as well... No point in looting regular towns anymore. Only stuff I'm lacking is medical supplies, so yeah fuck it, gonna look for some adventure (perhaps nighttime looting?) Death is imminent.

Not that regular tbh, I played 20-ish hours in total and died 4 times I think. And every time I'm surviving longer and longer, so currently I've been alive the longest!

I don't know, starting over is fun You spawn in a new area, new challenges, etc.

I play with a friend as much as I can but I play more than he does so then I just scout ahead and look for loot. I like it both ways, if he's online then we try to go to the bigger cities and team up, covering each others backs. And if I'm alone then I try to reach some of the general stores in the smaller towns.

I've had the same character for about 5-6 hours, I spawned right before sunrise and was running up the coast to Chernogorsk when about 10 zombies started chasing me. I ran onto a small wooden dock and turned around ready to start blasting when I noticed the zombies couldn't climb onto the dock. To conserve rounds and carefully popped each zombie in the head with my Mackarov. The sun had risen and I then made my way over to Chernogorsk to get some real supplies. I was able to find a crossbow, revolver and a larger backpack. I killed two bandits and explored some more. I then found a watch, hunting knife and flashlight. I decided then to make my way up to Devil's Castle about 80km north. Along the way I killed a boar and gutted him for the meat. I went through some small towns and in one I found a hunting rifle with a really nice scope. It was a hard decision but I decided to take it and leave my crossbow. After running north for about an hour I finally made my way over to Devil's Castle. I'm thinking next time I will make my way over to the airfield and see if I can find some better stuff. I wish I still had my crossbow.

Hehe, you generally thirst for some adventure after playing it safe for a while.

BTW if you feel like teaming up some time, feel free to add me on steam.

NEOZYEM: Aren't crossbows still shit? One slot = one bolt? And weak damage/rate of fire?
