Damn I wish I had the cash for Arma II right now. Me and some buddies were watching a bunch of play through vidoes and were blown away.
A stand alone version of this would be awesome though, or an arma ii/iii expansion.
Was exploring a ruin when I died for no reason whatsoever. 
Had just found lots of supplies and weaponry.
Back on my feet again! 
Found an AK and a pair of binos. Spent a solid half hour observing a nearby town from some shrubs on a nearby hill.
This game is something special, isn't it? The interaction between players is just so interesting. I caught this guy (pic 1) entering a factory area... he looted some smaller buildings before walking to the main building. Before heading in he heard gunshots from another player on the roof (pic 2) and promptly left (pic 3) rather than risk it... just felt so in-character and survival-oriented that I had to post it here

pitch black when I joined with two friends
walk for a couple of miles and encountered a couple of zombies and spent most of our ammo on them
found a farm, many zombies
found some gear there, but little ammo
one of us died there
the ran fast as fuck with zombies that looked like Adam and Jamie from mythbusters behind us
found a power plant where we were over manned
This is the first time I have ever wanted to buy a game I have absolute 0 interest in just to play a mod. Hnnnngh.
$15 for Arma 2 CO on Amazon. Never knew they did digital distribution. Downloading now! 
I am somewhat hooked on this game with my friends, current character has been around for ~6 hours. It's the first game that has ever consistently invaded my sleep when I'm not playing, really seems to have got under my skin

Played some more today... I lay on the same hill with my binos. Suddenly, two survivors got the drop on me ("hey guy with binos in the bush"). I turned around and could barely make out two proned figures laying behind cover with their sights set on me. Turns out they wanted to team up but were just a bit cautious. We gathered and met up with a buddy of mine. We roamed the land, gathering supplies and sharing the loot as we went. Then my display driver got some problems and I had to reboot...
But my adventure will continue! Still got my AK and my binos. 
if i could figure which file to download I would have started by now.

are there any servers with switched day cycles? sucks to play when its pitch black and i want to play now 
What server are you on Puddy? Can't seem to get into any server

I guess I have to, was hoping to reduce latency. Hope they will offset the day cycle since most people play during evenings(irl), and its more fun to play when its bright and nice outside(ingame)
edit: recommend any good US servers then? cant seem to connect to anything
