i have seen so many short movie that start with a shoot out or a sword fight and i always think this depiction of violence lacks context and therefor seems gratuitous ... i think you have to EARN your right to depiction violence first. there has to be a plot or character driven necessity. its perfectly fine to use violence or any tabu topic to drive a point home ... but well there needs to be a statement to go along with it! as a film maker you have to be able to stand by your message.
i mean i get that its FUN to shoot action scenes and when you are a young film maker asking favors from friends and coworkers all the time i am sure you want your shoot to be fun for everyone. but there is such a thing as irresponsible use of violence in media.
now with that disclaimer i show you this which i think is kind of on the irresponsible side but still fun and pretty
