Rick_D and gentlemen, folks, core of maps. Today is the day that will be remembered as the year's biggest game launch. It is the day that Exit Strategy Entertainment's super-secret, yet long-anticipated project "Planet Buster" is released to the masses. We don't have rich men dressed up as bats, we don't have jet planes, but we have weapons of interstellar destruction:

As you can see the game comes at an affordable price: it costs exactly as much as you want to pay! All proceedings of this title will go into the development of our 3D Jump'n Run-Action Adventure hybrid Pirates of New Horizons. It will help us to get make the game better, get it into your hands sooner and you've got something to play in the meantime. So while you are waiting for that Batman DLC to download or your copy of Battlefield to unlock - why not play a few stages of this fun puzzle game and support your local indie developers? Oh, you've played match-3 games before? This one does several things differently:

For one, the game does not restrict players to swap only adjacent tiles, which allows you to strategically arrange long chains of planets. However each move comes at a price: one coin. Coins can be recollected on the playing field, but consider that the bigger the chain-reactions are that players trigger the more coins will appear on the field! It also features an interactive map of the Pirates of New Horizons universe including previously unreleased concept art and an inventory of 6 different special items (to blow stuff up). There are 48 puzzle stages and 18 carefully designed "challenge levels" in total.

Warby, Zacker, Skjalg and me hope that most of you will find the game enjoyable and we count on your support! I post this here even before our own blog, so please help us spread the news!

Yay! Even if you don't play match-3 games yourself, then buy it as a gift to your mom or girlfriend. I have heard that they like these kind of games.

Bought, the wife and I are fond of this type of games. Easily accessible, easily enjoyable

I hope you get enough income from it to finance Pirates of the New Horizon, if that's the goal

To be honest, I am not a fan of these games at all. And when warby told me he wanted to work on this game I did not think it was a great idea. I have not been doing anything but beta testing on this game myself, and by doing so I have to admit that I was wrong. The game is addictive and super fun. I highly recommend it!

If you don't feel like buying it, then at least try it out (you can try to play the beta in the browser at the site), and if you like it I hope you change your mind or at least start spreading the word about the game

Just played it for a while this morning. Fun game, I got some pretty nuts chain reactions. The girlfriend became the passenger seat driver after about 10 mins of watching though

If you don't mind my asking how long was the development time on this game?

Thanks for the feedback! The game has quite a history behind it and was started several years back. Originally it was made by Warby and then some dude I who I don't even know who coded it in Java. Early this year Soenke decided to have the game ported to Unity and he got another friend to start working on that. When we reached September this year the game was still far from done, the 'new' coder was not really interested in doing any further work on it and there were various features that we still wanted to add or change. So I took over the code side of things and together with Soenke finished up the game over something like 1-1½ month where we were mostly full time on this project.

the dude who coded it first was nikolas"riviera"stephan the guy who usually does the web-mastering for my online portfolio.

he asked me if i had an idea for "simple" game that could be made quickly

i suggested this and claimed this could totally be done over the weekend ^^

now 3 years later its FINALLY OUT and selling
