    polish game, by Nicolas Intoxicate,

i met some of the dev team, and to be honest i wasn't believing that this game is coming out ever, but shit, they made it, good one for the team.

This is the first game in the Afterfall Universe, and this universe has got some damn long history, starting as one man project, on polish game dev communities, and groving in to a big commercial project.

This is post apocalyptic (God Damn!) TPP game, the game isn't open world game, more like linear game that looks like open world. I'm not very intersted by this game, but i will grab it for sure just to check this out, they have really long way behind to get to this point.

and the best part you can get this game for 1$ (lol) check this out, but there is a catch to it!

I worked a short while on Afterfall when it was an indie post apocalyptic RPG game.. I don't think this is even the same world as they initially had planned

    Lol 10 000 000 copies, even saying 1 000 000 would be a stretch.

obviously it was meant as a viral marketing trick to get as many people in the world to play it. sadly it's too much and too late. if they had built up hype and a stronger image of the game earlier, they'd most definitely have a chance of getting many more preorders, but even then, 10 million is way, way too much. assuming their budget to indeed be polish, i'm also thinking that there is some degree of greed here, because no indie game would be worth 10 million dollars. they should have aimed for perhaps 10,000 if they started hyping some time ago, but i'm pretty sure they won't get more than perhaps a couple of hundred preorders

This looks pretty nice for a low price indie game. Of course the 10 million is completely impossible. It's a nice idea to get some publicity tho.

Well the trick is, if they don't reach the 10 million, then those pre orders don't get the game for $1 they get 1$ off of a $30-40 price tag XD

They're thinking they'll make more money selling the game at full price, and that the 10mill marketing move is getting people talking about the game just like this thread.

sure you are, the game and it's marketing are symbiotic. You couldn't mention the marketing stunt if the game it's attached to didn't exist, what's the point of marketing nothing. This marketing stunt has appeared in a number of places, and every one of those places cant help but draw attention to the game itself.

I can't imagine they'd ever expect to make 10million sales (hence the Charity donation), and neither can any other place that is jumping on the story to also say "they aren't going to do it." The by-product of all this attention to their 1$ sale is they now have more places with the games title and trailer spread around the internet than they could have ever afforded to do with standard advertising. I'm pretty sure they won't make 10million 1$ sales, but they will make more standard sales than they may have otherwise.

EDIT: Also to clarify, when i say "talking about the game" I'm not talking about gameplay, design etc. But purely as a product for sale.
