"Right now, it's kind of bothersome in 2012 to play a competitive shooter that does not allow you to look down your sights."
(I didn't understand what he said and had to check the youtube comment)
and: what a retard

Yeah, the lack of iron sights (other than sniper scopes) made me so happy playing the last couple nights. (also, Al & HP, had a blast playing with you guys the other night!)
I'll second the interface complaints, but I'm still enjoying the hell out of it. I can see myself sticking with it for a while.

I can understand that. When almost every single other FPS released since 2005 uses ADS, and especially when guns in CSGO can be so inaccurate especially while moving, I can totally see getting frustrated by it at first. It's a bit different than if he had, say, says "Right now it's kind of bothersome in 2012 to play a competitive shooter that doesn't have your health regenerate" or something like that. Basic control mechanisms are muscle memory type shit, and games that defy them can throw you off.
I honestly find myself missing it when I need to shoot at someone at long range in CS. Zooming in on the FOV makes accurately aiming where I want much easier, as it makes my targets more visible.

Me too, it was really fun! My ping wasn't the best, but I had a lot of fun playing with you guys ;]

Yeah, guns are really inaccurate while moving, and also if you are standing on a stair: I died horribly once when I was playing with HP and KungFuSquirrel in de_train because I had mistakenly walked on a small stair in the middle of the map and tried to kill a CT that was standing in front of me. I couldn't hit him because of my giant wide open crosshair, and he killed me obviously.
I believe this lack of iron sights are part of the core of CS and are one of the points that distinguish the game among the others. I have to say that I instinctively tried to zoom-in to try to see my enemy closer, but I forgot that I wasn't playing a different game. It's a lot harder to see the enemies, indeed. But IMHO that's part of the game. What isn't fair at this moment is the (already mentioned
) skins/ silhouettes of each player that makes our lives a lot harder when we have to detect if the guy in front of us is a friend or foe, in just a split second.I agree that if he said that in regard of the health regen would be a lot worse ;D
btw, what is "ADS"?

ADS is "Aiming Down the Sight". As far as I know, Infinity Ward (or at least Acti PR for IW games) made up the term.

Reminds me of AIDS.

Despite earlier comments, I'm hooked. Still feel that the two new Arm Race maps Bagage and Shoot are too small and cartoony looking, but other then that, I'm having a blast. I agree with you guys about the buy menu, it sucks. I hear a lot of you going on about the character models but I don't have any problems with them. The map and the indicator above other players are info enough for me.
I like the new modes a lot. Finally won my first Arms Race yesterday! Ending with a knife and having to make a kill asap is pretty suspensefull. There two things currently bothering me though. When you press 'F2' to rebuy it rebuys everthing you ever bought on that map instead of what you bought the previous round. Very annoying! Plus, you don't get the ability to punish/forgive a teamkill. I think it even counts with your K/D ratio.
Btw, do any of you notice that you seem to be better in this game then in CSS? I would really like to play with you guys. How are we going to make that happen?
-
I like the game but I made an awesome pack of RAGEQUIT during the beta. Don't know if it's good to buy

So I just played old cs 1.6 and went 40 - 6
Loaded up CS:GO and went 16 - 12. I just can't get a hold of how it feels, uccch. Everything in 1.6 is just so much smoother and more responsive. Depressing.

I played CZ tonight and it's fucking shite in comparison now. I shall never be going back!

Tried it a bit more today! I've learned two things.
1. It's more fun if you play with people you know (obviously).
2. Changing the crosshair type and viewmodel to classic makes the game a lot more enjoyable!

-
Yeah. The default crosshair is awful as it blends into the environment far too easily.
-
Played a bit the last 2 days with some friends. I'm absolute shite at it, barely maintaining a 1:1 KDR most of the time, but I was actually having fun with it. Kinda forgot just how unforgiving CS can be, but also how rewarding it ends up being.

Same here, I just bought it today. But on a map I was 3 times mvp

Need more maps btw.

Amen, I use the dot like I do in Q3, try it out, I can actually aim a lot better and not get distracted by those stupid moving lines.

PRO tip! thanks, I'm using it too and I'm feeling better.

Will try the dot too, changed to the classic cross air and also felt an immediate improvement.
