Because the odds are not publicly available on the key/case.

Edit: to eloborate, I don't mind the cases or the economy of digital goods themselves, they are fine, but I believe all addictive acitivites should be up front with the details, as that hopefully will deter at least some addiction.

I rather buy 3 ice creams than open a crate. I won't participate in this kind of economy unless there's virtual in game coin I can earn by just playing.

typically easier to just sell recently released crates you get randomly and use that to buy the skins you want.

Or just do some good ol' fashioned trading.

Don't you want a dragon lore ice cream cone instead of 3 normal ice creams? ;)

You can't earn them, but you can randomly get some. I personnally bought all my skins by reselling souvenir cases I got by watching majors. It did participate in the business since someone's money got in buying those cases. Don't know if that would make you comfortable with it considering that fact?

Who has time for that? I haven't played CS in ages, even if I could play sort of regularly I wouldn't want to waste my time scavenging for a good deal.

Plus, except the knives and gloves I find CSGO weapons and animations plain ugly, with very few exceptions; I particularly hate the nades. What is valve doing with all this money?

@laminutederire I play so little games in general that I rather play than watch. Only reason I watched a couple matches when I found the re-airs on YT is trying to see what pros do to learn what they need in terms of mapping.

I only watch pro matches during majors to learn as well :)

Very informative though. The scene recently seem lest stale than it was at one point, that makes for varied approaches of the game which are interesting to study so as to map with teamwork in mind.

No one knows what the heck they do with that money except them I'm afraid...

They don't make that many games anymore, so I'd say they majorly invest in VR and e-sports?

This popped up on my yt, @FMPONE is something you've been asked to fix/you tried fixing? Seems more like only Valve could

The stuff people come up with... is just scary. Wonder in the second video if there was any intention fit this for the mapper, or the bangable was put her for other reasons

Yeah, you shouldn't really be able to do this. Would be very problematic, possibly trouble/against the rules in a major.

Oh the internet was decent and I spent I think 5h playing after work and then late at night ?

Gosh such a good feeling after all this time!

Played mostly operation maps to try stuff I've never seen, unfortunately there's a clear inclination toward Blackgold and Thrill, then Austria came up frequently, so that's about what I could try properly. These are all so good for Casual. Didn't really like Insertion. Happened to play a Competitive match on Shipped, but was as well first time I ever played the map so wasn't that fun.

Really enjoyed the other Competitive match played on Mirage, we were down like 5-0 or worse and we managed to regain the T side winning by 2, then increased slightly on the CT :) very happy and surprised with myself as I closed 4-5 rounds on my own on 1v2-1v3.

Question: is it possible to collect weapon skins by picking up dropped weapons?

Also do skins alter the way bullet hit? I picked up an "Elite" AK and headshotted two in a row while moving… I was just suppressing not hoping to kill anyone lol.

You can pick up weapons from other players, but that's not the same as collecting them in your inventory.

Skins have no impact whatsoever on the gameplay side. Maybe the "Elite" skin boosted your confidence a bit more ;)

Just luck @Squad, CS seems still very inconsistent/randomic for me at this point. Sometimes you spray in the mouth of an adversary and they don't get not even 1hp of damage ?

Uh finally managed to play Lite with real people and was great. I really like the dynamicity of this map, especially I like the middle options. My fav route as CT was defending A and then getting behind people in middle and B.

I would be really curious to see how this map plays in a proper competitive set up.

How fucking deep is the sewer from where the deepshits playing this game come from?! Just got kicked out of a competitive match because... my team gets obliterated, I manage to pick 4 of 5 getting behind them, they tell me to rush in the site because I don't have the defuser and I get picked because I couldn't check the corner properly (I would have just saved or tried to pick the last one for the money).

unfortunately, playing alone is hell way too many times.

This has always been my biggest gripe about CS in general, so many of the players are thicker than pond scum. The whole "clutch or kick" meme is so fucking retarded, and it's almost always started by someone who spends 90% of their time spectating because they have 0 game-sense of their own and end up dead within seconds of the round beginning. I feel your frustration.

    Thanks guys.

Yes @text_fish, sounds believable. In my case I'm a noob, haven't been playing proper matches since I had a CS:S clan, been picking CSGO up only in the last few days… so I might not have tactical sense (was also my first ever game in Overpass) and I can imagine them getting frustrated for some mistakes (I also friendly fired once) but if I'm matched I can pretty much shoot just as well as they can (point in case, kill 4 of the opposing team, saving one of my mates and winning the round, taking out the AWPer that was picking them off…).

They were also arguing between each other, the two better guys, and is not like it's twelvesters.

Twno nights ago we played a 4v5 basically, cos there was a guy busy "deranking", waiting in spawn to be killed or bunny hop to be killed. (Why would anyone want to derank anyway – matchmaking puts you up too quickly and people struggle?)

You made it sound like Prime is actually already a thing @marble, have just heard about it I think in a Thorin video or the likes.

Sounds like a nice solution, but comes down to price and how much can you play. It doesn't take me much to get hooked on games, problem is I don't play much and I should really spend the time to improve my skills. I'll worry when the service will be available ;)

(as per friends haven't caught any online playing at the late hours I've been able to play, but would love to)

Ah! I thought was a paid thing, or maybe whoever I heard discussing it was suggesting to have it as a paid subscription to cut off lots of people (guess maybe suggesting to make it available from the start?)
