I thought it was Valves property now :v Thank you, will do!

I'm not sure of the nature of the agreement but he broke a door a couple of weeks ago which was pushed to the live version ![]()
Must be stressful having so many eyes on glitches etc.
Nope its good. Mass bug testing > limited bug testing.
Quote from laminutederireRemoving dust 2 is maybe to make room for season? Seeing that in majors dust 2 is often vetoed and that we see a lot more of more recent maps, they may try to add some variety in their map pool. If it was up to me I'd make the pool larger by adding 2 maps, don't know which ones but still
it's however more likely that inferno gets pushed out of the pool until it gets modified, just like Nuke was, even if overall they may need less work on it, unless they decide to keep the layout features while redoing the looks, both on dust and inferno, those are valid hypothesis but how likely they are, you tell me!
I don't like the layout of season, the roation times makes the map super boring. I like the bomb sites, but it just doesn't work with 35s bombtimers. And removing dust2 would be madness. Teams veto it because it is a dangerous map to play, any team can upset on it since it is so aim heavy.
don't forget russia would start ww3

yeah so?
Maybe they just want to lift it a bit visually ![]()
Dust2 had it's skybox modified recently to allow for better nades. If all it needs is a visual lift, then they can just swap them in/out in an update. It doesn't need to be pulled from the game.
Nuke (and before it, train) requires gameplay overhauls and there would be a disconnect for competitive teams to prepare strats for it, only for them to be largely irrelevant post update.
I realise a lot of strats rely on visual cues, but that's less work than creating new strat.
There is a zero percent chance that they're getting rid of Dust 2, even just temporarily.
I would bet that inferno is the next map to be removed. It's the last of the ports from CSS, and the one most needing a facelift. It still has the *new tech* like ridiculously lumpy displacement floors and poorly placed foliage. Dust doesn't have nearly as many issues.

I agree, dust2 is good the way it is. Constant fps, great visibility and they haven't done anything wrong with the map unlike inferno.
Inferno is just a mess, even thinking about going A as a T and I feel sick.

!fb inside areas way too narrow
!fb fucking banana so tight
!fb B is impossible to attack
!fb wtf is this truck on A?!
!fb T spawn exit is way too cramped. block-o-mania
Ha, yeah exactly. We should do map tests of all the official maps and report our findings to valve ![]()

Even then it just sucks, all the corners in the site, pit, and standing on the balcony. Standing up on the balcony and angle it so you see the small stairs/steps on the site and you have the most powerful position on the map. There is no way to counter it really since you can't clear the area without being open to 4-5 other angles.
I hate maps like that, where you can't clear one angle at a time. You are definitely right, the map in its current stage would have been absolutely killed in a playtest.
The B site feels OK, rather easy to take and hold, a smoke on the spools and a CT smoke and you can clear 1 angle at a time, but the visibility towards dark is quite bad, and some angles should be removed.
I still love inferno tho, great map to play, but that is because of the basic layout. The map could be so much more tho.
Yeah but who knows they'll maybe get inferno out to replace it by dust 2 Winter and take overpass out to make room for dust2 night and take out cache for dust2 winter night !
Mirrored Dust 2 would be much better if you ask me.
The Dust2 winter that is at the top of the workshop just now is pretty horrific. Someone spent 10 minutes replacing textures ![]()
