Really loving it, it totally has the Skyrim effect on me, I end up being sidetracked by something and end up spending hours exploring random stuff. Also for once crafting doesn't feel like a shitty afterthought, even if it does feel a bit gamey. Like Rick said, it encourages exploration and going back to previous areas.

Yup that's bad...but the game is cool.

Is that me or there is a problem with their A.O. ? It seems odd...

Yeah, some of the worst use of AO I've seen to date. I wonder if it's so heavy to make the vegetation look better, but everytime you got a cutscene it looks horrendous, pretty much looks like characters are cell shaded. One of the reasons why I'd prefer playing it on PC, then you can just turn that shit off.

Yeah, don't know what they did with the AO there, but it's terrible...

The game is fun though, wouldn't have expected that a few months ago

Yes a lot of the mystery has now been taken away after watching five mins of that. But I'm still pumped to play it and hope there's plenty to discover.

Finished the story and now collecting all ... wait for it ... collectables!

    For any new players,

you should collect them as they award you with new stuff to buy and craft. Oh and if you come across some odd stone doors with a symbol on them: they are not activated with a switch or similar, as you can to blow them up with anything explosive

WHAT!? You blow those doors up with explosives? Well .... that notion completly alluded me. I was wondering how you get in the door. Duh - blow it up.

Really good game so far (just finished the first island.) I love these sort of sandbox-y games. Some bizarre design choices though that I can only attribute to consolization.

It's available on Steam now in the UK so I've gone and purchased it. Really looking forward to it

Just finished this (took a while).

Overall I'm very satisfied, especially with the story and the player's journey. If you overlooked some minor shenanigans and let the story pull you in, it was great. They really did a good job of showing the player's progression from the nooby beginnings to the blood-stained end game. The combat was fun overall, though the AI wasn't always the best.

Now, there were some things that I had a hard time with. Like the previously mentioned problem of the "tame" world. Even the simplest objectives are marked out ("Follow" "Go here" etc), all animal locations are clearly on display on the map and all plants are highlighted on your minimap. Very, very rarely did I traverse the jungle not knowing what I'd find, which takes some suspense out of things. Instead of watching my every step, scanning the jungle for dangers, my eyes were almost always glued to the map/minimap. The game never required for me to observe my surroundings all that much. This, combined with the piles of parked jeeps that are randomly placed everywhere, the lack of jungle variation and some other minor things made me lose the much-desired sense of place. For me, the world never "clicked" in the same way that it did in Dishonored for example, a game where I really bought into the whole world/game universe.

Yes but on the other hand you would get insanely frustrated by looking for a specific animal for 5 hours to get an ammo pouch, or after hiking for 25 minutes because there is no vehicles around.
