Got lots of things so I want to write them in here.
First I saw Super. Totally not what I was expecting. It was a great "realistic" take on the comic book superhero film. It's a dark comedy with an emphasis on "dark" and really refreshing given all the cliches it could have stepped in but avoided. Personally I enjoyed it way more then Kick-Ass.
I watched Day Watch last night. I saw Night Watch maybe 3 months ago and remember thinking it was a fun little flick but nothing special. Day Watch however, blew me away. It has some of the funnest, coolest, and craziest characters I've seen on film and the pacing and story is excellent, and completely refreshing. You really can't get any context without watching Night Watch first but it's worth getting through to see Day Watch to the end. I can't wait for the next one.
I re-watched Slither for the first time in... 5 years? I'm surprised how little I remember considering how unique and funny the movie is. It leans to the horror side of the horror comedy spectrum but when it wanted to be funny, I was all in. The mayor has some of the funniest, quotable lines that had me in tears.

Jack MacReady: He's a goddamn Martian?Bill Pardy: Martians is from Mars, Jack.
Jack MacReady: Or it's a general term meaning 'outer-space fucker'.
Bill Pardy: No it isn't!
Jack MacReady: Look it up, cocksucker!
Finally, sometime a couple weeks ago I watch The Rum Diary. Johny Depp once again plays the Hunter S. Thompson-esq character and all is right in the world. It's not the drug fueled nightmare that Fear and Loathing was but it has it's own charm in how much more real the characters felt. The story is actually pretty damn depressing when you think about it but the anti-climax kind of puts a bosh on the whole thing. Then again, that probably was the point. It was a good film but don't go into it thinking it's going to be like Where the Buffalo Roam, or Fear and Loathing. Just like those films, it has it's own distinct style.
New season of American Horror Story started with a bang. Looking forward to the rest.
No strings attached

A girl friend recommended it for me. She wants the D.
Pacific RimUsually I have no problem with hollywood blockbuster kind of clichéfests but dayum... they really went overboard with this one. Ok sure, you're not supposed to watch these for the story but this one is so sub-par in that area it's hard to ignore.
Nothing is new here, been there done that a million of times. They probably wrote the story with a checklist or something, very uninspiring. I'd go as far as saying it's the most predictable movie I've seen in a long time. And the fake emotional bullcrap was painful to watch and wtf was up with the scientists...
Anyhow... Robots and CGI fuck yeah xD That's what I was hoping to get and I got it so I can't complain I suppose ![]()
Robocop (Original)
Still fucking awesome. ![]()
Last night I hadn't much to do (if i just had a computer or my Xbox here) so i went for the marathon to conclude The Walking Dead Season 3... but I had to surrender after 5 episodes and a few minutes in the Season Finale ![]()
Edit: woa, the torrent i downloaded was incomplete
and I found out looking for the ending song of #12.
Guess I'll finally put my sister's Netflix account to use.
Very smooth documentary about Stanley Kubick's The Shining, nice if you're in to Kubrick ![]()
Just watch this. Easily best documentary 2013 for me...
Finished Season 1 of Breaking Bad yesterday, watched first two episodes of S2 today. Still not polarizing as I was expecting.
Quote from Pericolos0Really? I thought source code was great! On of the best sci fi movies in recent years. I'd recommend it
Same, really enjoyed it...
Source Code is the only movie I fell asleep while in a cinema. Ok, I was also coming from an afterhour of work, but i didn't like it at all. Too many "Oh like in [movie xyz]" moments.
I have it in my "re-watch list" btw, those movies you want to give a second chance.
Source Code was amazing, was really surprised by the plot.
I didn't like sunshine. The sci fic plot is ridiculous and the horror part is non sense.
Yes that one was a major letdown for me.
I've been a bit ill so I've passed the time by watching some films!
World War Z
Started fairly interesting... sort of. But man was it disappointing.
QuoteEspecially how they realized how they could "win".
The Thing (1982)
Haven't seen this before, even though I have seen the remake. The remake totally sucked monkeyballs, but the original is really well-crafted!

Which is kinda of a remake already
("The Thing From Another World"). The latest remake is actually the prequel, doesn't really feel like it adds anything.
yeah, didn't really like sunshine! I liked what it tried to do tho. This world needs more SCI-FI ffs!

I watched both version of The Thing recently too. The original is an amazing film, feels very much like the original Alien in terms of progression and plot, but it's got a unique feel. Love the sense of distrust amongst the people at the station!
The remake would've been much nicer if this made it to the final cut:
