What have you watched recently?

Saw the first half an hour of "Anatomy of Hell", and now I want to track down the director and punch them in the face. Asshole.

Community, season 2. I'm about halfway through and it's amazing.

i watched mission impossible 4 and sherlok holmes 2 in the plane both kind of MEH but didnt really offend me either

MI4 was really good, probably because I was expecting a really shit movie, and you know how it is when you watch a movie with no expectations.

And for sherlock holmes, it was the other way around, I loved the first one and I was expecting the second one to be just as good, well... it's shit.

The next 3 days, good movie and excellent acting Very believable scenario, some things fell a bit too perfectly into place like it only happens in the movies but nothing that would make you cringe, not that cliché overall at all.

Def recommend it! Movie from 2010 so probably a lot of you guys have seen it already...?

just finished watching Hanna on my lunch break. good flick, in the same vein as The Professional, kind of.

I was surprised with it, I hadn't heard anything about it and wasn't interested, not knowing what it was about. but then I read the summary, and figured it would be worth a watch. it didn't disappoint.

It's a very unbelievable scenario imho. As you said, things line up a bit too much. But that film is fucking great. It's just so enjoyable; I was taken by surprise!

Ah, guess my wording was a bit off, I meant it more that his actions were sort of believable, they made sense. Without resorting too much on mcgyver stuff.

They could've gone the Ocean's 11 way but did not, in that way it's more believable... but still a movie indeed Some luck here 'n there, I found it to be the perfect balance for a serious-ish movie.

Oh right, I forgot about those hick-ups. Then it becomes a bit more grounded in reality.

Also, I think his wife is kinda hot.

Watched the first 3 Alien movies (saw Ressurection ages ago).

Cool movies, even 3, but kind of lame how 3 and 4, ruin the endings of the movies that precede them.

It was good.

Having digested the first Alien-film I have to say that it was a lot different than I expected. The movie definitely felt like it was leaning more towards sci-fi than both horror and action. And more than anything, I felt that the alien, as a vicious monster, wasn't the primary focus. I've gotten the impression that in later films and adaptions, including the AVP films and video games, the actual alien creature is treated as a common horror antagonist and attention is only directed at it's capabilities and it's "scaryness". In contrast, the first film is more about the questionmarks; the derelict ship, the alien's purpose, the potential origin of the creature etc. That's a lot more interesting than reducing the Alien to cannon fodder imho. And that's probably the reason we're seeing Prometheus being shaped as it is; it's a return to the roots of the series and the trivialised xenomorphs are standing in the way of that goal, so a reboot was necessary. Really looking forward to it now.
