Who's movies, Kaufman's or Gondry's? Most stuff Kaufman is involved in is highly recomendable IMO

    Kaufman indeed.

Aye, Adaptation is brilliant, plus I really liked Synecdoche, New York. Being John Malcovich is great as well ~

First episode was a bit heavy on the exposition, even for a pilot, but I'm really liking it, especially episode 2. Really love that TV series can have such high production values these days, plus the time to actually tell stories well. Can't wait for each Mondays now (since it wont be up until then here).

I'm totally loving it. It takes any remaining shred of interest I once had in Lord of the Rings and does something interesting with it. :bravo: HBO!

    Same here, great show!

Speaking of which, as much as I love watching lesbians dike it out; the 10 minute sex scene was really out of place while Petyr was talking about something? I was not able to pay attention with titties flashing around and finger banging down under. I'm sure it had something to do with the epic

    cliffhanger end of the show.

Well...that's part of the design of the show...to have long scenes of interesting dialog on top of visually uncomfortable or otherwise...ahem... scandalous...visual material. Consider the scene a in the prior episode (er...before that?) where the king's younger brother is getting his chest shaved by his lover. There was lengthy focus on the blade near the guy's nipple...oy...uncomfortable to watch on top of the fact that you had the feeling they were about to get their male-on-male action on. More power to HBO I guess?

In any event, certainly makes for television that's not the same old same old.

Was there really any interesting dialogue in that scene? It was mostly just learning about his character and his motivations. Nothing really story driven

    And that's not story-related?

It was a good scene and if you caught all of the dialogue, you knew that a super major plot point (ending of episode 7) was bound to come.

I admit though that the bewbs were kind of distracting.

    It's a really good show!

You should try out hardcore porn. It has desensitised me in a way that i'm now able to focus on dialogue in less explicit scenes.

Dark City is one of my favorite movies ever, it never gets boring even after you've watched it 10 times.

I hope you watched the Director's Cut though, as it is a lot better than the theatrical release (the director's cut deletes the useless and somewhat spoiling narration by Schreber at the very beginning for example).

I've been watching Game of Thrones lately and I absolutely love it. I can't wait for the next episode.

I will choose a proper noir over Dark City anyday. Jenniffer Connely looks smokin' hot in it tho.

    Dark City.

    I liked that film!

Been searching for more mindfuck movies lately, saw Fight Club last night... I know, I know... A little embarrassing that I haven't seen it before, but it's just one of the many great movies that seem to have slipped of my "down to earth" radar :/

    Next up: 12 Monkeys.
