Beasts of the Southern Wild. The dad and daughter cast had amazing performances and the story was creative (not about global warming surprisingly) . Had to fight off my tears at the end. That shit was tough!

On a side note, does anyone know any films with good cinematography? I love people like Roger Deakins (The Assassination of Jesse James and a lot of Coen bro's films) who really like to get creative with lighting.

Finally got round to burning through Luther on Netflix. Seriously edge-of-seat stuff, one of the best crime dramas I've seen. Programmes like this always get me thinking about how sad it is that people end up with similar fates in the real world though, god damn.

Also got through the first season of The Following, which I thought was similarly superb.

I still have to see the first Alien :$ as those movies came out before I was born or shortly after, I watched them in this order: Alien 3, 4, Aliens.

Always waited on the first for a super director's cut box set… but then HD came along and I waited my parents to get a big TV. Since we actually got rid of ours and never replaced it, I decided to download the directors cut HD just recently and gonna watch here were I work before Isolation comes out

I've seen Out Of The Furnace a few days ago, I'd say it's the male, and more enjoyable, version of Winter's Bone.

Babylon AD. Not sure where the hate comes from, I enjoyed it quite a bit! Saw the extended version so maybe that one is better than the theatrical cut?

Yeah they said the theatrical version cut 20 mins from the movie that were crucial to the plot, so it ended up a giant mess.

What a clusterfuck of a movie, I remenber I saw it in the cinemas when it came out and I really didn't like it very much. Checked imdb and I rated it a 5/10 back then.

I finally got around to watching Stand Up Guys with Al Pacino and Christopher Walken. Two of the greatest actors ever. At first I didn't know what to expect. It started kinda slow but as things progressed it got better and better. Solid performances all round and a very enjoyable movie overall. It's says it's a crime comedy and although there are more then a few laughs, I would sooner label it a crime drama. They both still got it

I watched "A history of violence" with Viggo Mortensen. It had rather surprising elements and stuck with me for several days. Good movie!

Still got Luther playing on my mind, some really memorable shit in that programme. Can't recommend it enough for fans of any kind of crime/psychological drama. No season three on Netflix yet though, hopefully the trend of excellence will continue.

I've now started watching Dexter from season one, and after a couple of episodes am already starting to feel hooked. Definitely love the premise, hopefully there'll be lots of morality shit to come where I'm forced to feel conflicted about whether or not I can really get behind what he does — it's an area the formula leaves wide open for exploration.

I'm also trying to consider which of the million shows on my Netflix list I should alternate with, currently leaning toward The Walking Dead. Of course, I've now got 24 season nine episodes appearing for viewing... shieeeeet.

Was forced to watch the Blind Side with Sandra bullock today while waiting for jury duty. It's an alright chick flick sort of, I'm mostly posting this to complain/say that Sandra bullock movies are evil

    Saw The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

It was good. I like movies that know what they are supposed to be and do what they need to do. The villain Electro's subtle and tasteful dubstep theme was really good! Also, his visual work was amazing. You could get a true sense of his powers.

It's not like Blind Side is a romantic comedy so I wouldn't say it's shameful to like it... also she got an Oscar there if I remember correctly, so you have an argument against someone who would
