What have you watched recently?

    Some Action movie scene I made for fun with a couple of friends.

    Underworld: Awakening - All style, very little substance. Extremely disappointing. I cared about none of the characters apart from Selene, there were too many humans with no personality. Big shift of style from Gothic Hungary to United States doesn't work. There's no real decent enemy, no elder vampires and to add insult to injury, it's only 1 hour 15 minutes long... the credits last about 10 minutes!! Bah.

    I am watching community and I am laughing my ASS OFF. I thought it would be a really half-assed goofy and pointless show.

    But it's really something.

    Watched 'Berserk: Ougon Jidai Hen', it's a new medieval anime strangely enough made by Warner Bros. Animation/ art style is pretty neat (I watch a lot of anime... I'll just list recent good ones). Other current good animes: 'Zetman', 'Area no Kishi' (football anime), and 'Accel World'.

    Otherwise... watching Euro cup , and planning on watching some Firefly (again) some time soon

    Spirited Away.

    found the movie to be very visually impressive and extremely cool/interesting lore-wise.

    still, i thought it was pretty boring overall. I think it's because the story structure didn't make any sense to me. In the middle of the movie it loses all direction and suddenly it's as if the protagonist just gives up and decides to live in the spirit world. the main goal (leaving the spirit world) seems almost abandoned when the story starts to be about other stuff like the stinkmonster, saving haku etc. The brain needs something to work on while you're watching a movie, like trying to figure out how the protagonist will achieve his/her (main) goal. How are you supposed to do that when you're given no hints as to how the protagonist might go about doing that?

    I just saw the Intouchables. It's a French film about a aristocrat who becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident. He then hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker. I didn't know what to expect but I was truly amazed. It's heartwarming but at the same time hilarious. I cannot imagine people not liking this movie. I really don't. You should see it!

    Saw two movies last night. Fun things happen when people stream movies instead of games...

    The FP - It is literally Dance Dance Revolution: The Movie. And it's a game of life and death of your street cred in this. The plot is incredibly deep .. like a basketball player standing in a kiddie pool, the budget at least set them back a few burgers, but this movie probably got the best ending in cinematic history

    Ninja Terminator - What happens when a whole film crew thinks about ninjas and smoke weed. Camo-patterned ninja suit, Garfield phone, Tom Sellecks long lost brother being a ninja, etc.

    I just saw The Amazing Spiderman. Didn't expect a lot from it but I actually liked this one more then the original. Of course not flawless, but I had a lot of fun.
