    Blackhat -- meh; forgot why I downloaded it until I started watching it... recognised Mann's camera work straight away. He manages to make everything look so realistic
    Any Given Sunday -- after ages watched it again, it's still a great movie
    Despicable Me -- so sweet
    House of Cards S3E10 -- wtf is going on with all this latent sex depravation?

    Say what? Cancelled? I was so looking forward to season 3. I haven't checked any episodes yet because I don't want to wait every week.

    Yeah, though there's a good chance another network will pick it up. Some are saying it may be legal-rights related though, as they wanted to include Clarice Sterling in Season 4. Season 3 will still finish as it's all been filmed.

    I finally started watching 24 Day 9, the first 6 episodes were pretty much what 24 has always been :) bit weird but nice that it's set somewhere you know and you walk around often.

    Also got back to House Of Cards tonight and watched the last 3 episodes of the season... good ending, although was clearly the direction it was heading. I find interesting that this solutions despite seemingly less exciting in the short term, seems to offer much more in the long run.

    I first heard about the show from a fb wall post, so I had little to no expectations, but yeah imdb ratings persuaded me to give it a go and I was not disappointed (in the first episode) as in: it was worth my time. But I would off on further evaluation until a later date.

    Have watched Child 44 today, rather spontaneously and I like it a lot.

    Finally a movie that actually tells a story and the setting was really cool (post WW2 soviet russia).

    Imagine the tension of the first minutes of Drive, and stretch it for a whole movie. That's basically what this is.

    It was on my list, I put it quite some time ago, don't even know if I had seen a trailer or put it there because of Jake Gyllenhaal, so went in without any particular expectation. I'm really really satisfied. The quite realistic take on this makes me think only of another movie, in which Gyllenhaal stars: End Of Watch (which was insanely good as well).

    I must confess that I really like this guy, I think he's managing to show how flexible he his movie after movie; here sporting as a clearly disturbed person, definitely autistic, but I'm sure there's more to him.

    The Signal

    I can't believe the ratings, great sci-fi movie imo. Has a strong "Chronicle" vibe to it, for the whole indie-drama presentation it starts with.

    I wouldn't watch the trailer, as the first I've found on google is a bit spoilerous, don't remember the one I saw being like that.

    I've finished the first season of DeadWood. The show is really really good! Characters and actors are insane and the whole thing is well written. Already started season 2. I highly recommend.

    Watched several things without posting about it.

    X-Men trilogy, yes I've never seen it: was quite disappointing, I'm particularly annoyed with Wolverine, I know he's a fan favourite, the character is a badass… but in the movies is incredibly under-developed and under-used if you think that he's probably the Marvel hero with the most screen time to date!!! None of the 3 movies struck me particularly, they only have good moments (like X2 the Nightcrawler intro). Also I hate the Jane Grey character, that woman annoys me just because of her, her whiny character didn't change anything.

    Elysium: seen that last night and fuck… it's sci-porn, awesome visuals but an incredibly dull story with no real twists. Jodie Foster is particularly bad in acting and annoying-empty character, I'm happy she dies violently.

    Watched Riddick on Saturday... Don't know why I bothered. So many obvious "sit on this machine in front of green screen" scenes. Didnt even try to get the floor in for some idea of grounding, just head and shoulders and deep grumbling for most of the fucking film.

    @blackdog I like the cut of your jib, pretty much echoed my feels for all your mentioned films + I have a total gyllenhaal man crush :quagmire:
