And you have a degree in all of these facts? And guess what, Battlefield is fun. I win

Well, I can see you know how to end a discussion at least.

A game about a cartographer/making maps. I just spent the last like three hours wandering about the multiplayer minecraft server a friend of mine runs, trying to blaze trails between the various isolated settlements. Half the people on the server, when they die and return to spawn, have absolutely no clue where they are or how to get back to where they were. So far I've smashed through three ice floes to create a clear sailing path from a volcano to an antarctic excavation site, put torches and marker poles along the path from the excavation to the ivory tower, a minecart track with boosters going from the tower to the monster spawner, and a sailing line from the spawner to a shoreline two minutes walk or so inland to spawn. Later I'm going to dig a canal along that route, connect the tower and excavation with more mine tracks, find the abandoned Lost Settlement somewhere nearby (I've found it once and then lost it again ), and go find the house of a spergy guy I don't like and burn it down.

You could probably make a flash based game on this concept, with randomized terrain and landmarks and civilizations, income for your maps/trails based on how effective they are, and an RPG system where you can upgrade your pathfinding and mapmaking skills

Not as much of a long shot as you might think.

Interesting! I'm not into MMO's much so I never really read the news about those. The theme is also not to my liking. But I like that they're going for the story driven stuff so being BioWare and being good at what they do, perhaps they can implement that stuff to make a cool MMO.

    Then I looked at this: http://www.ign.com/videos/2010/12/14/st ... tid=816935

An it looks like your everyday MMO... Still crap empty environments, but I guess you just can't do single player-ish quality environments for an MMO with current gen tech. That's what this thread is for anyways right, wishes

So yeah, a bit closer but still a long shot from what I had in mind, perhaps I wasn't clear enough... I'm not the best at explaining things

I think that if we continue along the lines of his reasoning that since a billion people in China haven't even heard of his game then I suppose it no longer exists. So much for him playing it now. Fucking Chinese ruined his fun.
