I'm really confused as to how so many games (Dead Island is not the first by a long shot, nor will it be the last) ship this generation with always on, completely unconfigurable voice chat. I realize ppt is less reasonable on a controller, but it's trivial on PC, and always-on is awful in comparison, and I would literally prefer a game have no internal support for voice at all than always on voip, because with Dead island the way it is now I can't even just use mumble, because then my voice gets transmitted in duplicate to my friends. While this issue might not be quite so obvious to the testers, who all have standardized mics and no yelling moms or fans blowing directly on them or food in their mouths, but out in the wild of a release game it falls apart horribly, and I would expect history to teach all games to follow not to forget to put in some fucking options for voice.

Lazy console ports explains it pretty much .

I can't understand that either. The first thing I do in a lot of games is turn off the voice chat because sometimes it literally ruins the game having a bunch of twats constantly spouting out bullshit — and some people just don't STFU. Even when I've left voice chat enabled in games like Team Fortress 2 I've still had to be constantly muting guys whose voices just generally annoy me.

Goddamnit. I was doing a main quest to collect juice, and had it all in my car, and parked at a bunker very near the starting bungalow to check out a sidequest, went through an insta-travel point inside the bunker and ended up in a pointless dead end bunker somewhere else in the map, returned to the original bunker... and my fucking car and all the juice despawned.

I found my car again, back where it initially spawned, with the four boxes of juice in the back. Then when I turned in the quest I could only hand over two, and the other two became permanently affixed to the truck bed and I had to abandon it for a new vehicle. gj techland

(I just spent like four hours straight playing this game tho)

Oh and something I thought of/realized: When you guys do implement analog controls for keyboard and mouse (and you'd fucking better or I'll burn down scandinavia to get whatever country it is you're from I don't remember), don't do the "swipe in one direction to set a source, swipe another to set the destination for the swing" thing that the gamepad controls have. That's needed because any movement of a joystick is either radiating out from the center or tracing the outer edge bounds of the stick in a circle. On a mouse I can just directly draw the fucking line I want. Hell, I can draw curves and spirals and shit. If I want to pull off some zorro bullshit on a zombie and have one swing remove all five limbs at once, and my RPG shit's good enough, I should be allowed to. This would make the system FAR more responsive and less retarded like it is now (I tried the analog controls for a couple play sessions and they were awful and like three times slower than digital due to how tedious aiming each swing was).
