    Obviously that you did very little is why everything's so terrible, including EA's community policies and PunkBuster being as broken as it's ever been since the very first game that used it (whatever that was fuck the piece of shit's been around longer than I've been a pc gamer)

    Why didn't they give you chance to change your name to something else in exhange of getting rid of play-stats you had before as a "punishment for using such a naught naughty nickname in a game"? I think that would've been very doable from EA's part and get a little bit better picture of them.

    well, maybe the guy had been changing his nickname repeatedly to more and more obscene or borderline offensive/racist names and this was the last straw. perhaps he was reported ingame using that name to be offensive.

    Similar things have been reported on on RPS. Either way, it's some super serious shit getting your EA Online account banned, since that not only removes access to, say, BF3 online, but BF3 altogether, and any game you've bought on Origin, and any game that requires logging into an EA account, like Dragon Age or Mass Effect. For Valve to ban a steam account, you have to some serious shit, like chargeback a payment for a game, or use your account to phish others and steal their info. A VAC ban, which is for people found to be using external cheat tools, only prevents players from joining VAC protected servers. VAC-less servers and all single player content is completely uneffected. Contrast to EA taking away all the games you've paid for entirely, over mediocre trolling at worst.

    I can't figure out how you're supposed to accomplish anything in a jet worth points enough to get the upgrades that the other people flying jets use to swat you from the sky without effort. I don't even have flares...

    I've only used jets a few times and find them no fun at all, however I got the first upgrade with almost no effort whatsoever — I just flew around like a moron and got right up behind the odd enemy jet/chopper and filled them with bullets. You have to wait until shooting though because if you fire too soon they'll turn away and you won't be able to do enough damage at that distance.

    I think it'd be about a million times more fun if I had missiles or bombs, but I'm too busy having a great time in tanks.

    I love being in jeeps and running people over, it's my favorite vehicle. Tanks are supposedly powerful but teammates tend to go "Oh that tank right in the middle of our front at the point closest to the enemy can handle itself, best stay far away from it and assume it can kill everything", and then when I need to get out to repair damage I get ganked. I don't ever bother to repair jeeps, though, so
