Already is one. ![]()
Darnit!
does anyone actually like the new blinding mechanic?
on some maps there's so much shit going on with the street lights, the sun and your team mate's ridiculous searchlight-attached-to-gun blinding you in the face it's impossible to see anything half the time.
i just want to know if i can unlock sunglasses.
I was very disappointed when the sights for the CROWS on the m1 abrams was not the sight of the real thing ![]()
Quote from PuddyWhat are your tips for jets? Haven't spent that much time in them and I was never a jet-flyer in BF2.
Really hard in the beginning when you're facing jet aces that got everything unlocked
Hold out right to the last minute before you drop flares, don't drop them straight away.. And make sure you see enemy jets before they see you! Otherwise, it's pretty plain sailing.
With helicoptors, you have to be really quick and responsive with the controls to react to what's going on in the battlefield. Use buildings and other vertical structures as cover if somebody locks on to you as well.
With jets use a joystick, your fucked with m/k. Use the third person view when flying around, because it has a larger FOV. Try to stay out of the battlefield and keep looking at it with freelook to spot enemy planes and choppers, then move in for the kill. Always spot the moment you see an airplane. Don't shoot until you are behind and close to them. Use missiles after your have taken down their health with the machine gun. Slow down while manoeuvring when someone is behind you so there is a chance they will overshoot, or slow down when trying to take down helicopters, the game is much more forgiving in that respect then bf2. Try to attack with the sun behind your back. And have lots and lots of fucking patience, you will have lots of rounds without any kills in a jet.
Helicopters are pretty fucked as far as I can see.
You guys are noobs.
Mouse + Keyboard is more than enough to dominate and the aircraft in BF3 are way easier to control than those in BF2.
Yeah, I know about the flare timings and usually keep to the edges of the map; the hardest part for me is to shake enemy fighters... competent enemy fighters that is. Good tips though, I'll try to improve.
I played quite a lot this evening (as Puddzy, mind you) and despite some lag on one server (just started all of a sudden), I very much enjoy the game
You can't beat nice squadplay in BF3 imho.
Quote from PogoPJust finished playing Battlefield all weekend with some guys I went to uni with who came to stay... We literally only left the house 2/3 times, just to get more beer and food. The game is amazing, I've racked up about 20 hours already and I am DEADLY in a chopper and the jets
My favourite maps are... Grand Bazaar, Seine Crossing, and believe it or not... Operation Metro. Operation Firestorm is boring as hell, that Canals one is rubbish, and so is Kharg Island.. Damavand Peak is ace, I love the base jumping bit. Good job guys
Are you playing on console? Operation Firestorm is fucking amazing in 64 Conquest and 32 player Rush!

Also, on this map, the sky is the most beautiful sky that I have ever seen :

Welp, to anyone with an ATI card and got shit perfomance ... run Driver Sweeper, and reinstall latest Catalyst. Finally my game runs as it's supposed to to.
Damn, rented it on PS3 tonight to check out multiplayer, forgot about online pass. You win this round EA.

For some reason no AMD installer works for me anymore, they silently crash after I click "Install". I can update the drivers manually by pointing windows at the extracted AMD folder, but Catalyst and the other components are pretty much just stuck at 11.8 on my computer. ![]()
Looks like I'm managing a steady 30–40 FPS with most things set to low/medium. I have no idea what post-processing AA is or whatever, but it seems to be quite magical in that it smooths everything without raping my FPS like the regular AA setting does. ![]()
This is with a Q6600 at 3GHz, 4GB of RAM, and a 4870 1GB. If I had to upgrade one of those what do you think would provide the most benefit in BF3 so I can have it run smoothly and look sweet? I'm thinking the GPU but then I'm not sure how much difference RAM makes nowadays. Also my budget is like £200 at most so I have no idea how far that'll go with a GPU nowadays.
Well it was either buy it on PC or buy it on 360 and play with all my mates? Pretty easy choice right there. Not gonna buy it on both, I'm waiting for Skyrim on PC ;D
Also... The campaign in this game sucks. Luckily nobody buys it for the campaign though!
